They want the album about his perspective

On a song about him learning to be an ally

To somehow speak to the transgender experience he has never experienced

Facts lol just look at 808’s the example being used. If you told people in 08 it’ll be one of the most influential albums of all time people would’ve clowned you.

Exactly lol same thing with Yeezus in a way. Niggas were convinced Kanye broke his classic album run and called it a death grips rip-off. Now it’s influential in its own right

    WESLEYS THEORY

Nah lol Pitchfork literally the only publication to give it a lower score so far and probably will be the only one. Everyone else I’ve see has been ridiculously high.

Only 7 reviews on there so far though, probably gonna be 30+

7.6 is fair relative to his other work, p good rating imo

  • Actually hoping this album settles on a cool 75 or something on metacritic, so y'all can stop caring so much about em.

this is seems like such a step up and return to his GKMC/TPAB peak compared to DAMN imo. crazy to me that this got a worse score

even at the time it seemed like sites like Pitchfork were overrating DAMN a bit because the critical consensus around Kendrick was so unbreakable coming off the back of TPAB

I seriously can’t fathom why we give a f*** about critics reviews

U really think it's that much worse than Damn? I liked Damn but this deeper and better imo

tbh my main thing is that like i appreciate the components of the song separately than i do together if that makes sense? Like the subject matter and introspection is always welcomed but when it comes in the form of a song, the most important thing to me is how it sounds. Damn sounds great to me and i love the content. Content carries this album more-so than the music itself, I could see why someone would say its his best or his worst tbh
