a profit motive drives innovation, it drives competition, it drives companies actually making an effort to earn the dollar of consumers

    overarching government control = stagnation

this argument has literally been debunked multiple times for the past 50-60 years

the folllowing industries should be completely nationalized:

    • Natural Resources
    • Energy
    • Water
    • Infrastructure
    • Telecoms and Internet
    • Education

The following should have national/public options

    • Transportation
    • Food and D***
    • Housing

yeah, agreed. i'd add healthcare and the financial system tbh

    healthcare is food and d***
finance in terms of loans welfare and that should definitely be totally nationalized. Banks are predatory.

well market exchange and price signals is capitalism, not socialism

exchange of commodities isnt inherently tied to capitalism. capitalism is about who owns the means of production.

at least in that instance the power is split more ways, instead of being held by 1 monolith

    im not doing this rn

also the world has only "peaked" because the previous models were even s***ier. and half of the time these transitions required sacrificing the quality of life of whoever was involved (agricultural revolution, first industrial revolution that birthed capitalism, etc.)

for you, as an american yes. What about laborers in free market states in the south and the east? Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Africa, South America? You and I are at the top of the economic pyramid of capitalism, and all of the wealth that we accrue and all the products that we consume come at the expense of another person who is making that product for literal cents on the dollar, while their own home is trashed with pollution left over by companies like Nestle and Nike and Folgers. The thing about globalist capitalism is that you cannot see the exploitation that you take part in and you can easily turn away.

    I'm Australian

I'm against globalisation for the most part, I don't think big companies should be exploiting cheap labour overseas in any form
