That’s super true. The first meeting could be seen as her enjoying cutting him down, taking power away, being in the dominant position. And then the full s***I believe was basically under him saying if you don’t meet me at the hotel room, I’ll ruin your whole operation and all of their lives, and so is muddy it’s own right. She takes charge of that sexual interaction but maybe it was her way of surviving, if she doesn’t take charge and dominate him, it would be straight up coercive s***or rape.

    its def coerced s**

Yeah I’m out, y’all niggas doing too much of the victimhood “oh she was forced” and watering down her complex character

  • Oct 1, 2025

Bob is really a perfect criticism of white allyship where they have this privileged distance from everything, Sensei gets pulled over but Bob escapes, Deandra saves his daughter and gets captured doing it, and at the end he can’t even save his daughter from white supremacist she has to do it herself. In the final scene he’s just goofing around on his iPhone while his daughter has to continue her mom’s legacy. it’s like the opposite of a white savior movie lol

Perfidia picks up on Lockjaws fetish/freakiness and uses it to her advantage at the start when she is threatening him at gunpoint and he's all like "sweet thang 😏"

she's like "if you want to play then get it up"

It’s not as simple as that.

Yes, you are right, but it’s also heavily implied that she enjoyed the power she had over Lockjaw by being sexually dominant over him. You can see that in the very scene they meet at the start of the movie.

There’s nuance, it’s not just 100% in either direction

the first scene wasnt coerced tho

and im not saying its simple im just saying its coerced bc if she hadnt been caught/threatned she probably woulndt have had s***with him

    Oh.my.fucking.god

A white supremacist having a black women fetish doesn't equal the movie having a black women fetish, holy s***

This reminds me when people were calling Phantom Thread "misogynistic" because the main character is a misogynist... like where tf is y'all media literacy

Niggas be way too libbed out man

The only facet about this movie that fetishizes black women is Lockjaw… but that’s the entire point of his character; to paint him as a slimy scumbag white supremacist piece of human garbage

There needs to be a big note on all movie tickets that reads “The Thoughts & Actions of All of the Characters in this Movie Do Not Reflect the Thoughts & Actions of Its’ Creator”

You’re right, I agree with that.

So she was coerced, yes, but there was also an element of dominance over a supremacist that she enjoyed as a revolutionary who loved to run

I think it's sort of in the middle tbh. There's a part of her that wanted to f*** him. There's a part of her that didn't.

Right. It’s nuanced. Like most things in life

Ya, i never disagreed with that...

the irony of a "powerful" white supremacist who's deepest desire is to be controlled by a strong black woman probably wasn’t lost on her character.

i think its more that she wanted to fw him vs wanted to f*** him

You saying yourself that all of these is what make the character complex, flawed, layered... there's no "problematic representation" she is just not a safely written morally pitch-perfect person

I never said problematic representation. That post was about the thing I like about the movie and that make it interesting. I used the word cleaner which I think made it seem like I think the movie would be better without the complicated ickiness of it but I meant it in the opposite way. I edited and made that clearer in the post just to be double clear

the s***scene we are presented is literally implying she put a gun up his ass...

the implying she was about to give him a b****** and then standing right back up..

I just like the idea of her wanting to f*** him cause I think it's more weird and interesting and Pynchon.

Yep, and tbh that’s why it’s perfect that his slimy white supremacist ass was too “impure” to the people he looked up to. It just shows how pathetic white men like that are. Great commentary.

Probably not, that’s the usual placeholder for upcoming film releases. It’ll probably release sometime in December or early January
