I said there’s plenty of artists that influenced the genre more than Travis. Never said he didn’t influence the genre himself

TheFaderHe’s definitely influential but I don’t know if he’s de facto the most influential rapper from Houston ever like he is de facto the biggest
he’s only been active a decade and already stamped by everyone who people place above him in his city so I don’t understand what more niggas want lmfao. Him, cole and Tyler bringing them festivals to they cities needs more respect. those were huge for hiphop this last decade

The things you & @twenty16vibes bring up are differences between the eras but I feel like this zeitgeist should still make up a cultural context for Gen Z/A to explore creatively.

i agree with your last point. I dont think necessarily the 2010s were the best art because of the times, arguably bad times create great lasting art ofc so now would ideally be better as far as art goes
but it just comes at a time when the art/entertainment sector has been so raped and monopolized so its not really playing out that way.

Travis is influential for sure. He also has a classic album, arguably more than one.
Travis is a dumbass, a poor writer and probably barely produces any of his own music. He's probably just a DJ Khaled that actually raps into the microphone. Gen Z milli vanilli
none of this takes away from the fact he does have a classic album to his name
