bro PTA is waxing Tarantino rn
Yeah I wasn't even gonna comment on that cause it's such a clear case lol QT is doneski
on the tarantino vs pta point-
tarantino is more consistent. anything he makes, i KNOW i will have a great time at the cinema watching it. guaranteed.
but PTA reaches higher highs, easily. QT makes incredibly fun movies. PTA makes incredible films (but not all of them are a sure thing)
Timothée very clearly had the best performance of the bunch, Moura was a close second
How is it very clearly yet you say Moura was close second . A lot of people think Timmy was too much himself . I think he had a good performance i would give it to Wagner or Lee who wasn’t even nominated
Him and Malick as far as living directors
All time though he might not be in my top ten. Carl Dreyer the GOAT.
Love me some Dreyer
thats not on you but pta does soooo little to me. all of his movies are 4/5 at best. all of his movies look so uninteresting to me, haaaaaate his cinematography, everything is so cold and digital. every movie drags, theyre all too long and none of them are more than two and a half hours! the zionist did some cool soundtracks for him. everyone is a good actor in em but noone has ever swept me. solid director and solid direction but its entirely bewildering when people call him one of the best out. ill give him one of the most consistent, but if craig s zahler released more movies his catalog would likely wipe the floor with pta's. tarantino shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiits on pta because even when at their worst at least his movies got heart, pta is just lifeless
the only movie ive not seen of his that i really want to and that i have high hopes for is his pynchon movie but other than that yeeeeah
All of his movies being cold and digital is… a wild take

Being “too much himself” isn’t an inherent negative thing though, but I don’t even think that’s true either

Won’t dog pile but I respect how unique this post is even if it’s almost entire wrong / borderline satire

john carpenter is still alive FYI

i feel like the only Tarantino movies that are close to PTA's standard are Basterds and Hollywood.

i get peoples allergy to PTA but his cinematography being 'cold and digital' is a brand new thing i've never heard anyone say before congrats
Timothée very clearly had the best performance of the bunch, Moura was a close second
I also view MBJs win as another “cumulative” one so not mad at it think he should also get for Creed / Sinners combined
(Miles Canton snubbed thoo for outright best lead in sinners )

saying pta is one of the best directors when his biggest claims to fame are overblown melodramas, two movies about capitalism bad, and an early scorsese worship hit
talking about goat and not mentioning johnnie to :vlosereave:
beast though he's been talking about doing AI movies recently </3. which one is your fave?

allergy is a good way to describe it

Tarantino is much worse and your shout for a director I had to google seems like bait.
“Cold and digital” makes me think you might have been accidentally watching Paul W. S. Anderson movies instead, def can’t be PTA.
There will be blood, the master, inherent vice, boogie nights at 23! Should warrant him a best picture Oscar come on
speaking of lifeless cinematography
john carpenter is still alive FYI
In The Mouth Of Madness a bottom ten film of all time
he has classics though

he has too many great films for me to choose from. there's D*** War, Blind Detective, Breaking News, Exiled, Election films, The Mission, and Fat Choi Spirit. plus so many others lmao (including the ones that he ghost directed)
Love me some Dreyer
Usually made the best movie of each decade when he finally dropped
