I’m sure they have but delroy wasn’t like a killer performance. He was good though as I posted other supporting actors were in double or triple time so it’s tough . He played a drunk and his best lines were first half of movie

UnityAlso on a completely unrelated note, I'd like to make it clear that I am not at all optimistic about the telecast moving to YouTube but I'm holding out hope that they can figure out a way to let people give their speeches without cutting their mics.
It really rubs me the wrong way that they reserve so much time for stupid sketches and bits and that below-the-line craftspeople get their mics cut during the greatest moment of their careers as a result.
I fully acknowledge that I am not the average viewer and but I would much prefer to hear from those people than to see low tier Conan O'Brien skits littered throughout the broadcast.
I agree with this . They make all the jokes . When really I don’t need dumb skits and grogu ads. Need them to go up there and read the award THATS IT. Say a little something about their career or honoring themselves but the skits have gotten worse

innuendoIdea that Chalamet needs to get humbled is wild to me. A certain aspect of his loss tn is like a slap on the wrist to my (Gen Z) generation that has become increasingly nihilistic and blasé. You can’t be outwardly ambitious or ambitious at all because the grown ups want you acting a certain way in order for them to rear their heads.
Other noms don’t have this same problem; they’re from maybe the last generation where the above is not the case. Their relationship w cinema/movie-going when they were a budding actor was not in constant threat of streamer strangulation, slop-ifocation, studio d***-swinging. Young adults were more sincere then.
Think above is pretty interesting to discuss besides only focusing on whose performance was better
Timmy wasn’t the top performance I do think society is trying to humble him but Wagner Moura and hawke right there man

Well yeah because it’s not a great look . Knew racism would go up if people felt he didn’t deserve award . People wanted baftas incident to lead to him having better chances at an Oscar . He got it . Now he will be held under a microscope all his future movies and they will be ready to say “ your chain fake “

Thinking something is good and then having people immediately use words like “gassing” “glazing” “dick riding” is just frustrating.
Nobody is “gassing” anything, Marty Supreme was one of the best films that had multiple nominations across the board. It got no wins, it’s going to be discussed.

ngl i kinda cooled off on ms when i realized its basically the same kinda psychopathic tunnel vision archetype we seen in all sorts of movies before so its not really bringing anything new to the table
at least obaa has that going for it in a sense that its a fairly original movie

to me it's a 10/10 film and PTA is the best film maker in hollywood right now. he gets bonus oscar worthy points since he hasn't won one before last night despite releasing some of the best films of the past 30 years. so this is a slam dunk best picture choice IMO.
I can't say if Sinners is more deserving since i haven't seen it yet (plan to watch it soon) but it's hard for me to imagine it is more deserving than OBAA due to what i described above.

I’d for sure go Wagner over MBJ. No shade to MBJ, I just think he was the least interesting performance of any of the nominees (that being said as a whole I do just like Sinners slightly more than Blue Moon)
