That last part to convince us lol

So at no point in your 10+ years of selling these expensive items did you turn towards the internet? A real collector like yourself surely would be aware of its advantages lol

It’s $100 plus tax difference lol, which is $110 here in CA. that’s 2 new games.

also digital is changing. your ps4 purchases will work on PS5 so they’re obviously looking to EXTEND the digital ownership not minimize it in the future

also there are great digital sales all the time. pretty sure red dead 2 was like 50% off only a month after release during their holiday sale

not to mention they will be expanding and adding games to their PS Now service which allows you to download some games like horizon zero dawn, persona 5 or Control for example

discs are old news and production of billions of boxes are bad for the environment

There hasnt been any word that ps4 physicals wont work on PS5

There may be digital sales but they are not always good or offer the game that you want. E.g: Persona 5. P5 was out for years and it pretty much never went on a good sale until recently. When I first wanted to buy it a few years after release it was £40 on the ps store. I went and got a physical for £20 brand new.

Not only that but games almost never put out demos which is more reason to get a physical version of a game you are interested in. One of my biggest mistakes was buying RDR2 digital day one, I played the game for 3 hours and I didnt like it. I cant do s*** with it now, cant get my money back or nothing wtf is the point. You said that physical owners have smaller libraries but whats the point of having a large library of games you dont give a s*** about.

Some games are also just not worth replaying, why not sell them, get a fraction of your money back and buy another game?? I bought FF7R for like £45, had my fun with it and sold it for £40, I cant do that with digital.

If I wanted to I can buy digital too, its not like im limiting myself to physical only. Buying the PS5 with no disc doesn’t give you that luxury tho. You just stuck with a game once you buy it whether you f*** with it or not. Sony gonna have to make some changes to their refund policy before I even consider going digital only.

It really sounds like some of yall don’t value money

You actually get to play more games having physicals available to you because you dont have to worry about not liking the game since you can return it anyway

We’re just different, I would say the fact that you can’t play that game anymore means you lost value

I play games after I beat them, even years later

I’m talking about buying a physical game and not liking it. Also I got most of my money back, the value I lost pretty much went into a new game.

If I really love a game I can keep it anyway

Yeah we’re just different, I end up regretting most of the physical games I sold when I was younger. Nowadays I prefer digital because of the cheap sales and I don’t buy games at launch much anyhow

I love most of the games I buy so it would drive me crazy to have to constantly switch discs or cartridges every time

Thats the difference, I like buying games at launch. Not only that but not many countries always get good digital sales, the digital sales in the UK are dogshit most of the time and you can even get cheaper physicals on Day 1.
Actually a lot of times the physicals on day 1 are actually better than the sale for the game a few months down the line lol.

It just seems predatory from my perspective because if they are moving towards removing physicals in the future then we would be forced to buy from the ps store with their dogshit prices and not even being able to return games

that sucks. US keeps getting ridiculous sales every few months. Some games like RDR2 and outer worlds were $30 just a few months after release

Lmao to summarize, the man argument is he’s too lazy to switch a disc + he can’t afford games at launch

    agreed.

i personally prefer physical, but digital is inevitable & it does have its positives.

more affordability, & just options in general is just good period all round too of course.

digital isn't like streaming,(i feel bad for the very few people that are building a library on stadia for example, especially since Google is so loose with what they keep & what they axe'd, which stadia will probably get axe'd) people will still have ownership of their stuff. just not as a tangible item(s).
