In another universe Raspberry Beret replaces Take Me With U and the album is completely untouchable

love the guitar tone during the solo here, it's very reminiscent of the outro to U Got the Look

idk what it is about parade, but like i enjoyed most of it, but only really have the urge to come back to like 3 songs from it

Parade is the album where every outtake is better than the tracklist songs more or less. Complete misstep compared to his previous work

Well they use extremely similar chord progressions, only 1 chord difference, both are string driven and the first version of Beret is from mid 82 so it was recorded before Take Me With You. Could easily in another world where Raspberry Beret is used and Take Me With You is left to Apollonia 6 or just not recorded

Just is annoying that the Estate said we were getting a Diamonds & Pearls boxset last year only for it not to happen and then implied we were getting a Parade boxset and nothing said since

What do Prince fans think of his estate overall? Bad?

Hit or Miss, great at putting together boxsets and including the right stuff with the outtakes and footage. EXTREMELY bad at giving the information about the songs on the boxsets though, complete lies lots of the time and even worse when we have leaks and bootlegs of demos and then they release and they've edited 2-3 different version to make a "new mix" and then they'll claim it is the original

The 1999 boxset is the only release that had no frankenstein'd or edited songs on there, SOTT had 2 I believe, originals is 90% remixed and the PR re-release had 1 edit on there

they've done Prince justice overall. besides Welcome 2 America, i've loved all the archival material and the remasters have been nothing but amazing. there's some questionable decisions like excluding certain tracks from a SDE, stupid remixes of vault tracks...but other than that i'm happy

Oh and releasing the same concert (Syracuse 1985) 3 times although the last release was justified as they upscaled everything

hopefully a 40th anniversary SDE of Purple Rain will correct Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden and give the album a proper remaster
