animal crossing is one of the few games on the system that doesn't transfer traditionally. the process is a bit of a hassle (need to talk to Nintendo customer service) but it should only take 10-15 mins:

otherwise if she starts up animal crossing on her new switch it'll be a brand-new playthrough

yup, and saves (barring a few games) sync pretty seamlessly now too

if you're just gonna keep your OG one docked id set the OLED one as your primary system and your original one as the secondary. primary systems can play any game at any time, but secondary ones need to do an internet check before you play any downloaded games

I have the same setup going with a regular switch and a lite and it works pretty damn well, no real complaints so far

Hori shet I didn’t know this, but I had been hoping that this was the case. So basically if I’m playing BotW on my regular Switch at home and want to continue on the same save file on my (imaginary) Lite, that works pretty seamlessly?

Did they fix it? Cuz I always heard the saves never upload and get f***ed up a lot but that was a year or two ago

Yeah, there was a recent update a few months ago that made the process much better

The idea of a second switch is becoming more and more appealing. I do want the Ethernet port just for Splatoon alone. Also I believe the V1 Switch can be used into the new dock, that’s pretty convenient tbh. That eliminates the inconvenience of the old battery while still having use for the V1 Switch. Then have the OLED model strictly for handheld mode, which is basically the “Pro” model of the Lite.

I have gotten over Nintendo releasing a true Pro model. They have told us not to expect any major hardware upgrades any time soon, but we didn’t listen. The rumors just got out of hand. So it’s safe to say buying the OLED model will be a good investment. Nintendo’s focus over the past decade has been gameplay over graphics, it makes no sense for them to change now ESPECIALLY when Switches are selling so well.
