The 2nd hand market existing doesn't excuse Nintendo from being criticized for having absolute garbage pricing on old games that should’ve been discounted

We've had GOTY/Complete editions of games, remasters and remakes of games for ages and yet we've not hit the $80 mark until now.

Sony, Square and Atlus did NOT sell TLOU2 Remastered, FF7 Remake Intergrade, or Persona 5 Royale at $80.

Hell Goty editions historically tend to be cheaper and not add all the dlc to the costs on top is wild.

Mario Kart World being 80 is wild but at least it’s a new game and is next gen. Kirby Forgotten Land is a 2022 game and they’re charging $80. That’s lunacy.

They're not really charging 80$, its a 20$ dlc to a switch game, whether second hand, bought with discounts, etc. Thats how director's cut releases have been on ps5 too, and honestly, every game with dlc works like this really. Its just that Nintendo games don't usually go on sale, although even that now isnt completely the case. In any case, these DLC aint even aimed at new customers, its something for people who already own these games to play on switch 2 and increase engagement with the console and offer incentive to get the new console

Those are $60 games + $20 dlcs

Zelda is the MSRP + the $10 upgrade

This is more of an issue of Nintendo refusing to lower price of old games

He kept approaching me and I was with my wife so I got in protect started saying random s*** like “you don’t know what people got on em” and “I’ll go back I don’t give a f***” (to jail)

Prices are worse in Europe 90 euros for Mario kart translates to like almost $100 USD

Just the console without Mario kart is 469 euro = $515 usd, and with mk bundled is equivalent to $560 usd
