the colors are f***ing dope
Well this announcement caught me off guard. Looks clean I guess but gatdayum. No performance buffs and no Bluetooth headset support?
Then again, this might just be one out of two revisions. Perhaps they are planning to release a revision with a bit more power and features later on. Not betting on it but still.
https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1412396253720289284I want to believe but its hard to, especially if the switch ends its life cycle in 2023
so they announced the switch pro
more like the switch (a lil bit above mid)
this is huge for tabletop mode
gonna be a lot more fun
This def isnt made for us who have a switch already, but if i didnt own a switch this would be the obvious choice, even if it costs 50$ more

they are advertising the white dock version, but they are doing the normal neon version with the black dock as well lol
i was hoping for at least 4k docked but oh well i guess
Lame d***less loser company. Are there actually no performance upgrades? There’s no way right?
Can’t be true

https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1412396253720289284no bluetooth audio support is another bummer
I agree with a lot of what you are saying but a compressed 25mbps stream is pretty s*** compared to a 100mbps 4K disc. You cant compress down to 25% bitrate and not lose quality. Plus algorithms like you are talking about create artifacts that would not be present on discs
i hear lots of complaints about HBO Max 4K content and Apple TV is known to do up to 40-50mbps on their 4K streams with a noticeable quality increase from Netflix (from what ive heard).
s*** i just did an internet connection test and i have 500mbps download but i still see artifacts when watching 1080p netflix which is recommended 5mbps
No doubt, the main thing I wanted to get across was that compression doesn't actually change the resolution but yeah, Netflix vs Blu-Ray is clear as day, the artifacting is the main issue, it's still 4K, just not great 4K that only works to its full extent at very still moments
Having a movie drop resolution due to connection issues is such a gross feeling tho, one of the reasons I'm still big into physical media
no bluetooth audio support is another bummer
damn i haven’t even thought about that
they couldn’t even do the bluetooth support???
maybe the capability is there, and it will be released via an update?

They did add bluetooth support via updates but as it stands they did nothing with it lol

yea just watched the trailer

i feel like since the joycons use bluetooth there's some issues with also adding audio support. i dont know how many connections you can have on a bluetooth chip

youre right. which is why in my opinion Netflix 4K isnt real 4K content. To me the whole point of 4K w HDR is to get insane quality so then to stream the content is just wtf to me and ruins it
1080p blu rays look incredible and amaze me every time i watch them on my TV. You would swear some of them look like a 4K disc at points (tv obvi upscales it to 4K but still)

Apple TV + 4k IMO is the best streaming 4k
Their tv shows in 4k actually look really good
