Glad to hear that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 runs well on Switch.
good to know! i bought it on xbox when it came out. i wanted to hold out for the switch release at the time, but i figured it would take awhile. maybe i will double dip on this one day
The Nintendo 64 came out 25 years ago today. GOAT console

Nice. I never played the originals but I know a lot of people love em.

I got it for Christmas when I was 5 or 6
curious if most Tony Hawk fans have tried Skate or if they have avoided it due to thinking Tony Hawk is the real deal, when it's the opposite
N64 has a ton of classics but that controller still leaves a sour taste in my mouth to this day.

i love skate as well
i like the THPS series (well i like 1-4 and THUG 1 & 2) because it’s a fun arcade-like time - not realistic but super satisfying to land crazy combos. it almost gives me the same feelings as a tough platformer sometimes
skate is fun for more realism compared to THPS and it has smooth gameplay and looks great
i also like that indie game ollie too. it’s like a mix between both gameplay wise, although looks wise it’s a 2d side scroller

yeah they are fun, but now a days they are mainly fun because of nostalgia (imo)

Nice. I might get this on Switch. I also have a PS4 (with no plans to upgrade to PS5) so for me it's a a question of slightly better graphics and better framerate on PS4 versus portability and online play on Switch (I don't pay for PS online anymore and don't feel like dropping more cash to turn it on). If the Switch version has functional online play, I'll probably choose Switch.
Going by reviews mario golf seems to be lacking content 😔
IGN dogged it (6/10) but other reviews are better. I'm still gonna cop.

IGN gives the weirdest scores. Going by their rating system aint no way this game is a ign 6/10 its not the worst game ever made
nooooo
At least its gonna get frequent updates. Seems like the most disappointing thing to reviewers was story mode, besides that they seems to like the game modes
So ign gave it a 6 only because story mode was disappointing lol. Guess smash is a 7 then!

Imagine caring about story mode in any sports game
Based on what’s been said so far it seems right on the same line with Tennis

I mean if some have a problem with it thats fine but 6/10 is a surprisingly low score for ign to a game that doesnt feel that bad. But ign's rating system has always been a joke so their reviews do nothing to me and i never consider them
Mario Golf has a 75 on Metacritic at the moment as reviews are rolling in.

story mode for mario golf (game boy color) was dope tho. starting as a newb and building up your stats until you could win the mario championship and become the king of the clubhouse was fun.
I dont care so much about the "story" but I f*** with the career mode elements that are mixed together with it.
