Hey just went through the discussion and this is what I have to add.
I don't understand how people willing to pay for something is a problem. We live in a capitalist society and rappers are here to play it whatever way they want.
Remember that "the game is to be sold, not told", I fail to see your white boy argument; why does it even matter? The way I got into mach was the cause of the constant praise and cosign from Earl, billy, ka, roc marci, and griselda. Let's say you are the most knowledgeable person on the planet about hip-hop, who the f*** cares?
If you go by the number game drake is the best rapper on earth.
You try to bring up skyzoo as someone better than mach and I fail to see that, maybe I don't have a good taste as you in music. If you fail to see how you are acting like an egoistic child even though you are 35 at the age I don't think you matured in any way. Skyzoo and Mach can be good at the same time, those things aren't mutually exclusive. Just because your fav rapper didn't get commercial success doesn't mean he is not good and vice versa.
You bring up him not having big collabs as a slight, Drake has collaborated with even more legends than skyzoo has. Does that make him better than skyzoo.
Also, let's not fool ourselves into thinking skyzoo is any different than the typical New-York bars rapper, there have been plenty of rappers in that lane that have done it better than him.
He doesn't have any originality and plays very safe, rarely goes out of his comfort zone.
You say Mach is nonsensical, also bring Aesop rock in it to emphasize it. since you are 35 I probably assume Ghostface is in your top 10. What do you think Ghostface is talking about most on supreme clientele? It is common knowledge that it is word vomit. The whole postmodern movement is about stretching what is and isn't art to its limit so I would say mach is doing more to contribute to culture than skyzoo. Do you see here that im not disrespecting skyzoo, mach being good doesn't mean sky is bad. They both have a fan base.
As long as people are willing to pay it is reasonable. Do you complain about Gucci making 1000 dollar t-shirts?
"I don't give a f*** if you don't know what I'm talking about - this is art. When you go see a painting on the wall and it looks bugged out because you don't know what the f*** he thinking because he ain't got no benches, no trees there, it's just a splash. The n*gga that did it know what the f*** it is"- Ghostface Killah
"The music is art, but selling it is capitalism; quality of goods or services and amount of remuneration for said goods and services need not correlate. The likeliest explanation is that I am selling a quality product that appeals to a very small number of people, and thus far, none of them are high-powered booking agents or philanthropically-inclined heiresses." - billy woods

A lot of people ITT rank their second collab at the bottom of Mach’s discog but the first one is great. Wish “2 Second Style” was a Mach song and not a Kungg Fuu song, though, since it’s one of my favorite beats on the album.
Bro 2 second style could legitimately be one of his best tracks with a second Mach verse, that beat is crazy, fuu just is not for me

Glad everyone in here also agrees Billy is amazing

One of the best. No one is like billy woods
The one where he raps half creole/half asleep about bandanas and broken clocks over a stolen DJ Mumbo Jumbo beat
This is a legendary reply

Well said my dude!
Cool and keep enjoying. I'm just saying that I think in five years y'all will have moved on. Skyzoo will still be here, same fanbase, same consistency and the same can be said for many others. Just my opinion. It's also just my opinion that a lot of dudes in here have a linear taste in hip-hop. I have zero basis for that. I'm speculating but I think anyone who has listened to a broad range of hip-hop ain't going to spend much time on Mach. There will be exceptions to that of course.
So crazy I feel the exact opposite, as someone who’s listened to a “broad range” of hip-hop , Mach only impresses me more compared to other rappers when I found out about him
Bro 2 second style could legitimately be one of his best tracks with a second Mach verse, that beat is crazy, fuu just is not for me
That beat goes soo hard! Might be my favourite track off that album. I really don’t mind Fu on there... but another Mach verse would have been better for sure
