i'm 43yo, been listening to rap since 13, from east to west, southern to midwest, even international scene as i'm from overseas, and here's the deal as far as i'm concern... i don't know about goat, but i've never heard anyone like mach, imo he's one of those top tier intelligent persona, who besides having real unique content, understood how the matrix works and took advantage of it, just like a doom or a wsg. mad props to skyzoo for keeping it solid, but there's hundreds like him. now everything comes down to what makes you vibrate. street cred, longevity stripes or working with legendary producers is cool but never guaranteed higher quality. going on tour is another debate, as it's usually where you make concrete pesos as a music artist... if you can do without it good for you. meanwhile we also have to acknowledge that some profiles are actually not attracted to the spotlights.

But Roc and KA have performed plenty, just maybe not so much since all the new jacks caught on. Those dudes solidified their status way before 2010 when it ain’t no shortcuts, no gimmicks, no hacks.

u tryna blame mach for able to utilise the internet to his advantage and mach did the same s*** before he just don’t do it no more. there’s no need for that s*** and roc marci will charge folks god knows how much for an album too

That’s a really good post. I can’t agree on what you said about Mach and I think Skyzoo gets unfairly labelled as average too much but your post makes good sense.

Not blaming him but I do think his strategy allows for something short lived. I really value longevity. Roc may price some things highly but not all of it. It’s far more accessible. Mach prices things which immediately remove the choice from people to cop. If y’all are saying oh but you don’t have to cop then consider if that’s your privilege talking. It might not be. But it could be.

@Bleezie im only going to say this once because I can’t be bothered to waste any more of my life with your pathetic ass then the time it’s going to take for me to write this.
I honestly don’t know why people even entertain this goof. You come in here judging us, saying we are close minded and linear. Generalizing a bunch of people from many diverse backgrounds and experiences based on the fact that we all share a common enjoyment of a particular artist. It’s sad. Most in this thread are very well versed and open to all avenues of hip hop and many other genres of music. Read the f***ing thread if you have too. And then there’s you... skyzoo this, skyzoo that. Jump in here cause you’re butt hurt someone said they don’t enjoy skyzoo. Really? Tbh, sound like you have a very narrow and linear view of hip hop. Maybe you need to give things a real chance and open your mind a bit.
Arnt you 35? Don’t you have a job or a family or some type of responsibilities? Something you can do that’s more productive than spending an entire day talking s*** about Mach Hommy in a Mach thread? Seems like you just need some attention. “Book mark this”, “mark my words”, “ words are powerful” “here for the smoke”. Who the f*** talks like that? You’re a narcissist and you should be embarrassed of yourself.

Tired of you filling this thread with your nonsense. No one actually gives a f*** about your opinion. We are here to discuss Mach not read about why you love skyzoo. If you got something constructive rather than destructive to add to the convo great. Otherwise just keep living in 2009 and enjoy your skyzoo

he’s rapped since 2004 which means that at least 15 years he’s been doing this. he’s been in the game lol. if u wanna be really pedantic the strategy has worked since 2013 so 7 years and counting. the dude gotta make his money somehow and that’s the way how cos even then someone of his size can’t get that much from touring

  • Nov 10, 2020

would be nice to see people like skyzoo getting more recognition, but why don't they get it, here lies the real question... meanwhile the answer is not because some people (like in this thread) are giving props to another artist more than they give them tho isn't it

just saw this on his TIDAL page. hadn't seen...

"Mach-Hommy is undeniable. In a few short years, the Haitian killjoy with good bone structure has grown from best kept secret into a relentless force of nature.

At every threshold, Mach expands exponentially. After mastering online hand-to-hand transactions and bespoke physical products to cultivate a forward-thinking audience, a new chapter in the mythology was ushered with the arrival of the highly anticipated Mach’s Hard Lemonade, as an exclusive Tidal release. Continually making moves that pleasantly surprise a growing base of supporters and consternate would-be gatekeepers, our Haitian auteur might pop up in Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La recording studio or take over D’usse’s social media to give the general populace a refinement in refreshment. You truly cannot predict what may come next.

Today, the new chapter grows with the release of “Really Weak,” another Tidal sure shot exclusive. Mach pivots from the polished, buttery sound of MHL towards more mettle and grit, yet again proving the cultural depth and artistic range behind the mask. While the flat-footed surf on the surface, Mach-Hommy is the seismic shift that precedes the tsunami. The biggest wave is yet to come."

Come on, 2016 tops. Guarantee 95% of people in here didn’t know he existed until 2016/17. The gimmick has worked for 4 years maximum.
