because then that means people without low-functioning autism cant qualify for the label either

right, but severe cases of adhd do exist and can be more hindering than those with autism in many cases. it just makes sense to qualify them under the same label, even if the extreme of one diagnosis outweighs another.

    This is very rare tho

High functioning autism is still pretty disabling.

He's saying if you're using the label it should only be because you have one of the ones that gets that bad

ADHD might get severe but even severe ADHD isn't as bad as severe autism

  • i hate how people use the word "alternative" as if it's a genre to describe rock, pop, rap, r&b, etc like theres a reason subgenres exist

    alternative is not a genre

right but then i would argue that it’s more than common enough for adhd to be just as disabling as high functioning autism

but it’s not a matter of terminally ill it’s a matter of illness in general. it sounds like he’d be more satisfied with another term that means “super severe neurodivergency”.

Well no I don’t think the medical literature should change a thing there’s reasons people way way way more knowledgeable than any of us on this topic did this.

It’s about how it’s used in a social settings, people tying their identities to it etc

Yeah that's hella misconstrued and you're totally right

I remember people used to have an issue with Chris Chan saying that they were high functioning autism and it's like well they are lol

like being able to drive, be out in the world etc and Chris still had lots of problems even before the Internet

NOT comparing autistic people to Chris Chan ijs you are rigt

    Ok maybe I’m wrong

Autism something I’m pretty tapped into and if you’re in the spectrum for real you need quite a few symptoms of it. A spectrum isn’t something everybody is on, there’s a strict minimum amount of symptoms.

I personally would rather adhds than that any day. Not even close for me

I was just speaking candidly this what I’m taking about

Other than the fact that certain spectrums under the neurodivergent label are infinetly more disabiling and serious
