thats the plan
learned recently they’ll pay for the cert exam vouchers, which i’ll definitely be taking advantage of.
starting to like the new job more we will see how i feel in a couple weeks but having some dumb meetings but also some cool ones
Finally got an offer for an entry job as an Tech Support 1 at a msp
congrats
I'm sure you will have plenty of opportunities to do tier 2 stuff after a few months just stay curious and asking questions
MSPs are great places to learn

idk maybe it's just cause it's christmas season but i'm getting the feeling I'm going to be doing so little work
honestly looking for another job on the low
the pay is really good but I'd take 25% less to build more things
i'm conflicted they told me they want to modernize but I don't see that really happening with the culture
only my 4th week though will give it some more months

Damn jobs just falling out the sky for you lol
Nah but frfr a lot of companies (especially small, mid-size) talk a great deal about modernization but lack the cultural vision/cojones to pull it off.
If you find a way to do it, could be a great career boost. Or a waste of time. At least the money’s good…
If you don’t have a budget set by your company, I’d recommend giving yourself a training budget for the year based on your finances.
I’ve capped myself at 5k.

yeah exactly it's midsized, I'm just having second guesses if I took the right job when I had multiple offers last month honestly
I don't really wanna find another job but I also see that one person high up in leadership wants to push for modernization but it seems like every single other person i've talked to is fighting it on some level
honestly my goal would be stay here at this job and do a good job and help them but I just don't really see it actually happening besides maybe running a few containers in the cloud or something after many months
I just felt a little misled cause in the interview they were acting like I'd be working on moving the legacy workloads off windows/vmware but really it just seems like I'll be building a linux env every couple months and then just automating/managing windows servers
idk if i would have taken this job if I knew that was the job
yeah think I'll just stick it out for a couple years, see where it goes.. would look good on a resume to have a midsized bank on my resume
a lot of money
ideally I wanna start my own tech company someday so maybe I'll just save and work towards that in my free time

Msps are incredible places to learn a ton of useful s***. I only worked at one for a month and was able to bs my future jobs. Soak up as much as you can
I can't get any help desk or it support jobs for s*** man.
That’s surprising tbh
Where are you applying?

I used to apply everywhere but I'm excluding call center type roles. I get interviews even end up as final candidates but never the final offer. As i say this tho I think im about to land a role in a school
Had the first day today, wondering how long it will take me to talk fluent IT. All in all not bad.
What the hell is going on with Microsoft's branding ?
Office became Office 365, now it's 365 Copilot. So much noise

Job market's still abysmal, but figure might as well look around now that it's a new year.

he lives in a countryside town, so it was easier, he also relied on sycophancy lol, but his bachelor's degree did help
my job really is just writing so much and doing so little
it's like 95% legislative 5% engineering
