yall are doing the most weight you can handle everytime? i know that's lowkey the way but i've gotten obsessive with going to the gym and i don't see how it's sustainable
No I typically leave 1-2 “reps in reserve” and don’t train to failure. If I’m working up to singles I’m not going to my max lift every session.
So I like my new gym
But one issue
Motherfuckers pride themselves in slamming down their weights
Like cmon bruh you don’t need to signal to everyone in the gym that you’re doing deadlifts
Like cmon man you got 365 on there you ain’t need to be making all that noise
Like cmon dawg we got rubber plates if you can’t control the weight on the way down

And for a heavy squat it’s a big mental battle pushing yourself to those limits but if you’re not at an actual meet just doing that every week or so at the local gym it’s a bit absurd

Not going to go overboard but try to eat at maintenance, maybe a minor surplus, for four weeks. Try out some of my new cooking supplies and tools. Increase volume and cardio.
