She kept a record of everything that happened
    Exactly as it happened
Every interaction captured in exacting fashion
Not a diary, but somethin' to be dissembled with dispassion
Carefully taken apart and the wiring examined
Bent her wrist to write, it looked like a butcher's list
A knife folded in the folds of her dress
    She's nobody's muse
She wears a dead man's shoes and tracks the move
Down to the ground glisten, the only sound hound snippin'
    Suzerain
Nothin' can exist without permission in the book what it listed in
Charcoal sketched the men, the pen scratch some limbs
Pages full of such you won't see again
    Suzerain
    She never drew his face
    She never wrote the end
    Just left a blank space
    Her knee never bent
Everything swim in her eyeglass lens
Erased the sun, left the world to spin

What do you think is the meaning of thi verse? I get all the imagery and what i going on but I don't understand the bigger picture he is hinting at.

finally sitting down to listen to the album. The Blues Remember Everything is a standout track, but I'm liking almost every song so far

    🚨Backwoodz newsletter:

Use code "MFDOOM" for a 10% discount for any catalog items released before Paraffin Re-Issue, good until Sunday 11:59pm EST.

Happy New Year everyone, that was a long, long, long 365 days and we are just thankful to still be here. That said, we are really happy to be turning the page and looking forward to what the label has coming next. Speaking of which; there are some big projects on the horizon and we are starting to clear out space for incoming inventory. In the process, we found some merch that had been held for touring artists but, of course, all the tours got canceled. We figured we would make the items available at the stickered price, regardless of what it might be going for on Discogs. And just because we love you guys we are tossing in a 10% sale through this weekend.

There is a lot to say about MF DOOM and chances are a lot of it will be said over the next couple weeks, but from a personal perspective, he was my greatest inspiration in this thing of ours. On my list of greats, he is at the very top.

So many references. Always enjoyed seeing woods passionately get into what seemed like monthly arguments on DOOM's discography ranking.

My favourite has gotta be woods flipping Nas's 'buck that bought a bottle' line on Frida. So clever and darkly hilarious.

'A Day in a Week in a Year' is a flawless track. Not a word wasted and structured perfectly.

On the windshield it's one particular raindrop
    Caught strugglin' in the incandescence

You tinkered with the flow but yo, the whole style Roc's

Every time Elucid raps first I think “how the hell could woods match that?” and then woods comes in and spazzes. And vice versa. Best duo

They’re such different rappers, but the harmony between them on tracks is “magic,” in woods’ words

Elucid on Fuhrman Tapes, Microdose, and King Tubby are some of my favs.

I feel like in his lane, woods is unmatched in terms of songwriting, beat selection, and structuring phrases and developments in songs

That track is a perfect example

Also you think he’s alluding to Roc Marci in that line? I didn’t take it like that

I remember saying the exact same thing a bunch when Shrines had dropped. Its crazy how they one-up each other when it seems impossible. Hands-down the best duo out.
