The Firelord was almost as p**** as Aang was.

The reason they cut off Korra's connection to her past lives is so they couldn't keep bailing her out of trouble like Roku did for Aang.

They did it once with Aang giving her, her bending back and that's it I think.

ehhh Korra just lacks good fully fleshed out characters like the OG. No one really feels relatable imo. Especially korra who just starts with most of the elements and doesn't have to grind for this s*** like aang

I feel like Korra just throws in cool fight scenes to try to make you forget how one dimensional the character writing is

well that’s pretty arguable, but does that make it bad tho? overall still manages to be a good show, just with a weaker ensemble than Airbender

He got murked by Azula who is 14 and Zuko who is 16 too. He got murked by everyone he fought tbh, could only beat fodder and was saved by avatar state.

It makes sense why he was garbage though cause he was lazy and played around while you could see the benefits of Katara actually training throughout the series she was able to hold them both off and her bending continuously got better.

I gotta rewatch Korra I watched it when it first aired and haven't since... Then I'll be able to give an actual opinion on it.

I mean... Aang was a trash avatar and this is coming from someone that has rewatched The Last Airbender multiple times because I enjoy it so much and only saw Korra once.

Aang throughout has made nothing but terrible, selfish decisions. He needed two ass pulls to defeat the fire lord because of those decisions.

I like the cast around Aang a lot better than him, he was the weakest link even as the mc.

He was a 12 year old boy who had to master all the elements within one year. Of course he was going to make mistakes, he hasn’t even gone through puberty yet lol.

But Aang was still wiser than Roku and Korra. Roku was the one who wanted the nations to stay divided and Aang had to explain to this old ass dude why that was a problem

Korra on the other hand was just hard headed asf. I might have to rewatch to give you a detailed answer but she was making mistakes left n right lol

He got hit by a cheap shot lol, but that was one of the only times Aang got caught slipping. Plus he is a pacifist, he doesn’t even want to fight unless he has to.

Korra:

Got her bending took away (after having dreams that is was going to happen )

Severed her connection to the past Avatars (she didn’t do s*** when she was in avatar state too)

Really f***ed up with the spirit world fiasco and she lucky her L turned into a W after unalaq was defeated

Got absolutely destroyed by Zaheer and was saved by the air benders (she ptsd from that though)

Lost in a fight to female hitler ( like you the f***ing Avatar how do you challenge somebody to fight and lose )

I could go on really but my point

What cheap shot? Did you watch the fight? Aang was going 1v1 against Zuko got low diffed and he went to help Azula cause she was getting murked by Katara. Then Aang fought Azula and got whooped again, making Katara have to fight them both again.

He was not caught off guard he was just trash.

And I’m not arguing for Korra, I’m arguing that Aang was low tier and if any other person in that story was the avatar they’d be way better than him. Toph, Katara, Azula... All three were better benders than Aang and would fold Aang without avatar state.
