His beats are good but like I said they bring nothing new to the table

They fit Drake’s style & that’s my problem, OZ is a “safe” producer for Drake because his production is generic

He’s not bad but he’s not special at all

That's true. His beats don't challenge Drake in any way. One of the most mind-twisting beats I think Drake has ever rapped over is the Worst Behavior beat by DJ Dahi. That beat was crazy. It pushed him to think outside the Box. OZ's beats don't do that.

I just think with Drake, he should really consider how dropping a new album now would affect the way it's received and consumed. Most people just aren't in the mood to listen to hit records or full albums right now and that's the truth. At most, they bump it for a week and move on.

For maybe the first time, all the s*** going on in the world trumps any new music that's dropping during this period. I know I feel that way. I want new Drake music but I also know that if I got new Drake music right now, it wouldn't hit the same way for me under different conditions.

    No point delaying it indefinitely

I don't know, I think alot of people would still listen no matter the circumstances, the way drake makes music for albums usually takes you out of the element you are currently in, and puts you in a different place. Atleast for me. 6ix9ine and Lil Baby seem to be doing fine during all this. Just my opinion though.

That's okay. I'm just speaking for myself mostly. I think DLDT didn't hit as hard as it would have if it had dropped under different circumstances and I think the same will happen to a new Drake album dropping during this period but again, that's just me and what I think.

Why not? There's no rush to drop either. He dropped a project less than 2 months ago. Some rappers haven't dropped in 3 years and they're not in a rush either. Drake can wait if he wants to.

I think the only reason dldt dropped was because of the circumstances.

You're projecting, why do people not want to listen to albums? Who has dropped who's known to put together well curated projects?? Weeknd album was nice, tlop 4 deluxe was nice that's about it. I definetly don't want to listen to time flies or toosie but people want this album trust

I noticed we only got those amazing left field songs in the first place because 40 challenged Drake with making a concise project rather than playing it safe

I remember Drake saying 40 challenges him a lot to make concise short projects but I guess Drake doesn’t want that at all

Which is ironic because his best & well received album was NWTS, a project where 40 was challenging him the most

If the album is done, delaying it will just lead to vaulted songs or the whole thing being scrapped

I’m going to get dragged for this but Drake working with OZ & bringing him into the camp was/is a horrible idea

While his production works well with Drake’s song writing it’s painfully generic & brings nothing new to the table

Even Greece sounds like a Pierre Borne beat , and I really like it

    Pierre wouldn’t ever make Greece

That doesn’t change the fact that the main component of the song sounds like Pierre production

Everyone thought Pierre produced the song when it was played

So much talk for just one song leaking lol

Song is good to great - no doubt about that

The people who don’t want an album right now are more worried about how much it’ll sell, not about the music it’ll produce.

As for it leaking, that’s on Drake. He knows how to deal with leaks cause around 2013-2016, not much was leaking. Something changed and that’s on him to fix it.

  • Jun 24, 2020

Look how active this post is compared to that Busta leak...

And Swizz had the audacity to suggest Drake let the song leak to use Busta for clout lol

  • Jun 24, 2020

Why aren't we talking about the content of the song? Sounds like it's partially about Jorja? "Some of my ...... don't love me" who that? Lost some of the team over these local beefs?

The difference prob is 40 not in all the sessions & holding the only copies

The more tracks Drake makes like this the more they lose value to, the introspective songs are lyrically well written but follow the same formula & it’s getting stale

I’m sorry but this simply just isn’t it, it’s not weak but there’s nothing special about it

People saying it’s top 10 Drake when it’s literally not even top 30

Introspective Drake isn’t even special anymore

i somewhat agree! hence why drake shouldn't be listening to dumbass Akademiks about that introspective bs, 1 or 2 song is fine. but he should keep experimenting and exploring new sounds like he did on views imo

I don’t think they’re worrying about the actual music tho we know he’ll deliver, but it’s tough to disagree with saying this won’t hit the same with everything that’s going on right now, and you know people will be at his neck immediately if he drops the album while all this is happening

Summer doesn’t end till September and I always thought we were getting it at the tail end of summer anyway 🤷🏽‍♂️
Album will be out by his birthday imo

The IG stories yesterday with the Jordan’s say a lot imo

Greece & Vital is a step in the right direction

We just need someone on his production team to challenge him like 40 did with NWTS

He just needs to switch it up & stop trying to recreate the same song with slight updates

Aside from that, whenever Drake takes chances, it mostly turns out great. Those basic ass beats are his comfort zone and he loves having several of them on his albums and all they do is bring the energy of the album down and make it more repetitive and derivative of things he's done before.
