Doesn't really matter. OZ might end up scoring only a handful of placements on Drake's album. Nothing is ever set in stone till the album drops. We should all know this by now when it comes to Drake. @BBeauty is right in that regard.

This is a better explanation. I understand people liking the song. People are free to like whatever. I just thought you saying it was a top 10 Drake song was crazy because it isn't and I doubt it has the potential to be, but it's cool if you think that.

I just gave you a history on how he typically releases his ALBUMS. I don't know what a demo tape has to do with anything. He dropped 2 mixtapes before dropping Views and he dropped More Life before dropping Scorpion. Those were all side projects and Dark Lane Demo Tapes is a side project as well.

The more tracks Drake makes like this the more they lose value to, the introspective songs are lyrically well written but follow the same formula & it’s getting stale

I’m sorry but this simply just isn’t it, it’s not weak but there’s nothing special about it

People saying it’s top 10 Drake when it’s literally not even top 30

I mean you’re probably right, I was using a bit of hyperbole to say it’s a great song in my opinion haha. As I said I’m just really excited about the song and the album. Out of interest, what don’t you like about this one and why don’t you want it on the album? I feel like this is a song that the general public would fw as well but then again I thought everyone would absolutely love Toosie so what do I know

I have no real issues with the song, I just think it sounds repetitive. He's made songs that sound like this that were better than this one. Everything from the production of the first part. The drum programming, the distorted vocals, the lines about life and not trusting people, etc. He's used that exact formula dozens of times. It doesn't matter how well the song is written. Those songs don't just hit me the same. Losses uses the exact same formula as well. It has gotten stale. The second half is a bit better but it's more of the same.

Fair enough. I actually agree with most of what you said but to me that’s what I love about drake even if it’s repetitive. That said I wouldn’t be opposed to him going down a different route eg what he did on vital, but I’d happily take a 15-track album with the kind of formula on this leak if the songs are all top quality

I think so. I think a lot of things will affect the time we get the album.

Like he told Wayne, he wanted to drop a single but dropped DLDT instead. Almost 2 months ago, he said the album would be dropping this summer but so far he hasn't dropped a lead single off it and it doesn't look like he'll be dropping anything anytime soon.

When DLDT dropped, George Floyd was still alive and the world hadn't gone crazy. To add to that, a lot of countries and states/cities in the US are closing back up again because of a rise in Coronavirus cases so the summer Drake probably thought he would have is gone.

I feel like things like that will definitely affect the time we get the album and maybe even the content of the album.

It's so weird how that works, the world could end today and I would still bump some new Drake if it released. If anything it would help alot of people stop reading all these fear induced headlines by the media and chill out for a little.

Yeah. I still feel like he has a lot of stories to tell and expound on, but he has to switch the formula up, at least for me. Maybe other fans are okay with getting songs with the same repetitive formula in flow and production.

I’m going to get dragged for this but Drake working with OZ & bringing him into the camp was/is a horrible idea

While his production works well with Drake’s song writing it’s painfully generic & brings nothing new to the table

Even Greece sounds like a Pierre Borne beat , and I really like it

Views, Redemption, Lose You, Charged Up, Survival, Is There More, March 13th, When to Say When & Losses all follow this same pattern/formula

This song is just another one of those tracks we get in every project

I think OZ is great. Gold Roses is great, same with Life Is Good. Omertà is also good, so is Time Flies. The only beats he's done for Drake that I think are mediocre and repetitive are the beats for Toosie Slide and Losses. They're too basic.

I just think with Drake, he should really consider how dropping a new album now would affect the way it's received and consumed. Most people just aren't in the mood to listen to hit records or full albums right now and that's the truth. At most, they bump it for a week and move on.

For maybe the first time, all the s*** going on in the world trumps any new music that's dropping during this period. I know I feel that way. I want new Drake music but I also know that if I got new Drake music right now, it wouldn't hit the same way for me under different conditions.
