Ghetto dreams such a banger
That one track really made me want a whole Nas and Common project. And they said they was gonna make one. Niggas lied
It has its ups and downs. The pro is that I almost always make atleast $30-50 extra dollars a day off of it. I have a main job in the evening/night and that’s my main source of income.
The downside is some of the restaurants suck when it comes to being ready with the orders and sometimes the customers themselves give you worst directions and just expect you to know where they’re at.
How many hours do you do it/how many order per hour?
How many hours do you do it/how many order per hour?
At this point I usually do it for about 3-4 hours per day.
I usually get about 2-3 orders per hour. I weed out all the s***ty $2-3 orders that DoorDash likes to throw at you to get to the $5 and up orders.
You also gotta keep in mind the biggest factor to consider is also the mileage. For example, a $5 order for 1-2 miles is fine. That’s good money on your end. But a $5 order for 7-10 miles? F*** that.
Also OP I would recommend checking out the Cocaine 80s mixtapes. It's the group of Common, Jhene Aiko, James Fauntleroy and No ID. They made a lot of great projects in the early 2010s.
The Pursuit
Ghost Lady
Express OG
The Flower of Life
I I know you gotta ways to go until you get to The Dreamer/The Believer, but if you do enjoy that album checking out Cocaine 80s work is worth it as it gives you more opportunity to get a better understanding of Common's artistry in the 2010s, and they serve as a nice lead in to Nobody's Smiling.
Should I listen to the Cocaine 80’s before Nobody’s Smiling?
There was a lot of hype surrounding this before I listened. But did this album live up to the hype?
Yes.
Like Water For Chocolate is a soulful masterpiece mixing Commons poetic flows, Jay Dees swinging drums and jazzy contributions from Questlove and other members of The Soulquarians collective. More on this album than any other he’s released so far, he solidifies himself as a formidable MC and artist. There’s so many incredible songs to unpack, from the nasty “Dooinit”, from the uplifting “The Light” to the humorous “The Questions” to the heartfelt storytelling on “A Song For Assata”. There’s a certain energy you can hear in the music that I can only describe as magical. I would’ve paid a f***ing ton of money to be a fly on a wall during these sessions. I can’t find a single flaw with this album, and trust me I tried looking for something. No I.D and Common were a great duo, but Common branching out gave us this album. The world is truly a better place for having this available.
Final Score: 10/10
Favorite Songs: Dooinit, The Light, The Questions & A Song For Assata
Least Favorite Songs: N/A
I’m not going to quit until atleast after Let Love
I might listen to A Beautiful Revolution 1 & 2. Depending on how I feel.
nah, you gotta check out ABR. ABR 2 is fine but I think the first is one of the better realized common albums. hope it'll make more sense once you listen to more of his stuff
still cant believe that binging commons discography actually paid off down the line lol

I feel that's the way to go because they ran from 2011-2013. Nobody's Smiling dropped in 2014.

Datpiff has all the music they released from 2011-2013 available in a single tape
Today I’m going out DoorDashing and listening to his fifth album
I’ll give you guys a short review when I’m done.
Let me preface this review by saying that while this album is definitely not perfect, I feel like it’s a misunderstood piece of work. People expecting something in a more soulful/jazzy vein are going to be surprised to hear Common dive into Psychedelic rock influences like Pink Floyd and Genesis. I think the majority of this album works well. However, there are a few moments throughout that either overstay its welcome or feel a touch awkward. Like the second half of “Jimmy Was a Rockstar”. But despite its few flaws, this feels like an inspired piece of work. The production from Questlove, J Dilla and The Neptune’s was excellent and the features are essential in supporting the experience. There are absolutely brilliant moments on this project. And it’s sad to me that the legacy of this album is that’s it’s viewed as a misstep between Like Water For Chocolate and Be because people’s idea of what Common is was challenged.
Final Score: 8/10
Favorite Songs: Aquarius, Come Close, Between You, Me and Liberation
Least Favorite Songs: New Wave
