Geez the pacing of the first act is terrible. They made it seem like it’s really that simple to take over the old ladies property.

This movie has too many conveniences. The doctor just happens to be willing to lie just like that to say the old lady is unfit. The judge just happens to approve without the old lady being in court. The nursing home just happens to treat her like she’s in prison and doesn’t allow her to use her phone or have visitors.

Yeah I’m not feeling how simplified they make this s*** seem.

Nah I know it’s a real thing. But they showcased the process in like 5-10 minutes.

“Hey doc I need you to say this lady is unfit, I’ll hook you up

“Hey judge the old lady is too unfit to be in court so hand over her rights to me”

“Hey nursing home don’t allow her her phone or visitors, treat her like s***”

Like all that happened so quick and simple and didn’t give any type of build up to the process of scamming her out her property

I’m sure the pacing is metaphorical bro

Often times for older folk big changes like this are fast and abrupt and they’re old and defenseless

Eiza González Is so underused in this. They ain’t give her no type of character development. Even they love relationship has no depth

That’s just bad writing to me when there’s multiple coincidences or conveniences that aids towards the protagonist

The problem with the pacing is it’s trying to be too many things. It rushed the first act just to get to the “Russian Mob thriller” 2nd act. The movie woulda been fire if it just focused on the art of scamming old folks out their homes and the realistic consequences. Not this Russian Mob flick it turned into
