i'm actually a neat freak but i don't get bothered by dirty dishes. i'd go to my friend's place sometimes and just do his dishes out of boredom because their sink would be filled with crusty dishes and they'd never do them. they never understood how disgusting it looked and frankly it is embarrassing that a 20+ year old can't do their own dishes. blame mommy and daddy for that

instead of taking it as a personal attack OP should realize that some people don't prioritize s*** like this. some people just don't understand and lack self-awareness and empathy. they don't take pride in where they live, and don't understand it

taking it so personally shows OP also lacks that same self-awareness that they can't even talk like 2 men and instead he's posting his frustrations like a chatty kathy on here

This "dishes" talk comes up between roommates all the time btw, it's a classic example of how to learn to live with someone

Dawg are you serious? I tried to have a dialogue with this mf and he walked away before I finished. Like he could give a f*** what I had to say. What arent you understanding?

But still tho, is that an excuse to leave the sink literally filled with dishes bro? Like wtf

some ppl are dirty naturally. id take it as a sign of respect that he made an effort initially. im sure with you around hell get bback into that habit especially if you are clean. i know i leave plates in the sink sometimes. its not something to get worked up about

hey probably because you were as aggressive as you are on this f***ing thread bro

people hate being "mansplained" especially over some damn dishes lol

he probably FELT that you came at him like some child and you're his daddy and he showed constraint by walking away

    what aren't YOU understanding?

it's not all about YOU and your dishes

  • Mar 16, 2021

He most likely doesn't take you serious and has no respect for you or himself if he's avoiding a responsibility made known already.

I'd personally bring it up again as soon as possible.

Be straight forward and clear; express yourself without violence or insulting words (in case he's having some sort of personal issues with himself/family/others). Also be reasonable and open. Don't shut him out completely.

If he continues after you've set the record straight, then take that nigga's knees off in his sleep.

its the one thing i get on my girls head about cause i dont like them

but when i was 21 (assuming op young by him describing this situation) i was young and immature. if my roomate out of town i might leave a pile of dishes and have the living room messy but we are all different and prioritize different s***

i just know a physical altercation about someone have a dirty sink one time is mad immature

    My g,

Other people's inability to properly take care of themselves and be responsible has nothing to do with respecting you. If he cannot do basic things like cleaning or or taking responsibility and/or looking at you when you're talking to him then that man is probably struggling with some s*** and/or lowkey has some fear for you.

Be cool and give that man time to come around. Everybody be buggin' every now n then, we could all just use some time every now n then.

yeah i’ve lived with some dirty roommates before, s*** sucked

wound up just doing the dishes and cleaning myself. i tried talkin to them about it, and they made some effort, but then would fall back into the same patterns.

sometimes people just don’t notice or care, just people who live differently or are on different ends of the maturity spectrum
