Blaming Apple Music and Spotify doesn’t really make sense… like yea you have people pumping pointless music into the game for quick streams but regardless the real musicians stand out so idk what’s the point of blaming streaming services. Like; everyone that deserves their flowers pretty much ends up getting them is what I’m saying

Nah there is good s*** out there sure not everything is for you but to say music sucks now is once again always just an overblown statement.

With something so subjective to begin with I feel like a general statement like this is just too easy to say. Ask people what they have been listening to. Go out and search for new music & listen to new genres. Change your perspective on it not boil it down to a generalized talking point that it reiterated allllll the time on here.

Naw. I agree with OP. This isn't just a "we're getting older" thing.

• artists aren't having time to fully develop sounds anymore, because they're blowing up over night through trends and Tik Tok. There are examples of good ones. But then we have stories of "I've only be making music for 5 months before my hit song dropped", and we can tell.
• we hardly have music that goes beyond 2mins now. Unless it comes from a veteran artist.
• we haven't really seen any new artist emerge that seem like they'll be a leading artist of the 2020s. At least if we're purely talking hip-hop/R&B. Sure we always have some random emerge with a hit. But they seem to sorta die out as fast as they blew up. Partly due to how low attention span we have now. Ice Spice seems like she already on the way out, since her album is shaping up to be a flop.
• statistically we legitimately DO have lower attention spans now than we did 10 years ago, thanks to us becoming obsessed with short form videos of IG and Tik Tok.

There's obviously still a lot of good music out there. But imo, most of it is coming for artist who's been in the industry 8+ years. We do have a few newer artist stepping up.
I'd say i loved Pinkpatheress' album personally. But even then, I'd say certain things, like every song only being like 2 something minutes is holding her back a bit
