Maturing is realizing…..we are just billions of single cellular organisms having chemical reactions that make our brains heat up and think of bland musical opinions about which waves of air pressure are better so we type into a contraption made from rare earth elements and precious stones so that other multi cellular organisms can read through the reflections of light hitting their cornea and they have a chemical reaction that makes their brain heat up and type why they think the opposite way about that particular wave of air pressure

Dude really out there pulling up an itw from 22 years ago. Half of this site wasn't even born yet.

To make things clear, chad left in 2006 for private reasons that have nothing to do with Pharrell, nor the creative aspect of things. These reasons will probably never be disclosed, or maybe after he passes away.

He came back to work with Pharrell on a few occasions.

    this is not an alt

Pharrell hasn’t produced a good song in 10 years. But now that I think about who knows if Kanye has

ye hasn't produced anything outside of a handful of beats since college dropout

  • mr get dough

    Right

If Pharrell was weak and Chad had all the talent then why tf was Chad in a group with him lmao??

Hated that take about chad being the real talent for years but never thought about it like that

No lie, to say is better than the other is crazy. Both Pharrell and Ye are legendary man. If you're going to put claims out like this op, you got to have an essay ready explaining yourself or something.

That’s why no one watched that Lego bullshit

  • May 29, 2025

Didn't think this would be that much of a hot take tbh

  • May 29, 2025

even when Pharrell was actually going crazy I obviously rated him but definitely outside of my absolute favorites, I don’t know what it is, him & timbo have comparable sort of trajectories in how they branched out but I’d definitely put timbo above him

Dudes like Pharrell (Neptunes if you wanna be obnoxious about it) and Timbaland defined a whole sound that was dominant in music (not just rap/hip-hop) for two decades. A sound that is actually still prevalent and replicated today in Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, and even Latin and Dancehall music today because of the hits they made and artists they've worked with back in the day.

Kanye's production is great (or was), but there's a particular range of sounds that Pharrell got that Kanye never really did. People will be like "Well Kanye can do house/dance, gospel, and experimental!" and I'll just be confused as if Pharrell hasn't also nailed these sounds in many different eras of his career.

Ultimately it comes down to preference as to who you like more. But when speaking objectively, it's extremely obvious that Pharrell is the better producer.

Both are respected GOATs & should be seen as such.

    Plain & simple.
