I get where youre coming from yet imo these are the most we can get for now- Feel like for a 2hr movie ntroducing these chatacters we got a pretty decent chunk of everything youre saying. And its not coming from a place of stanning cuz I have s***ted on mostly all marvel movies since 2022
Maybe I missed something. I left the theater knowing nothing about these characters. I know they sprinkled in lines like “I,m Johnny and women love me” but bro didn’t have no hoes the entire film. If you got no b****es for 2 hours straight why would I remember that one time you said you got b****es?
It’s aight

You cant have fleshed out character arcs in an ensemble movie like this one imk. What shines here is the group dynamic and at the same time there are standouts like Sue

you gotta go to the movie theaters with closed captioning
Seeing all these good reviews makes me feel crazy. It felt like I watched a power rangers episode, but I’m glad others are getting something from this movie.
I agree
As someone who enjoyed both this and Superman, I’m genuinely puzzled by people liking one but not the other, or saying that F4 feels like another by-the-numbers MCU flick. If either one of them feels like standard MCU fare, it’s Superman
Idk Superman had a lot of chemistry, a good cast, one good fight scene, and Mr. terrific. I think this was cast cool but did not like the characterization. I think it would have worked better if it let Sue be fully the main character. It felt unfocused, I preferred Thunderbolts as typical MCU fare if I’m being honest. They did do a bunch differently which I gotta praise it just didn’t land for me
Random but I cant stand age of Ultron. Ugly ass boring ass movie
It’s very bad, such a bummer to see in theaters
I honestly don’t think so. I don’t think this F4 will be folded into the mainline MCU timeline post-Secret Wars. What reasoning would there be for them to leave their world? I thought they would be forced out by the end of this movie, but that’s not what ends up happening.
I think they end up returning to 828 after Secret Wars, and we get sequels on 828, or we straight up don’t get any sequels to this film at all, and First Steps-Doomsday-Secret Wars acts as the faux F4 MCU Trilogy
I hope it’s the first hypothetical, I want Shakman to come back. Imagine how much improves as a director after the lessons learned from making his first big budget movie
why can't the new universe after Secret Wars be on Earth-828
Now that’d be an interesting direction. X-Men in this world would be fire

This felt unfocused? This was the most laser focused MCU film in years

I mean led by any one character and their feelings / characterization is the prism of the plot. I’m not saying there’s fat bc there isn’t. It just lacks a central force besides the ensemble as family. The chemistry didn’t work enough for me to hang on to that. Maybe the ensemble would work in tv but I think it takes for granted an investment in the characters.
I really think Sue is the closest to a protagonist / emotional center and I wish it hewed more tightly on her pov

That’s the thing about the F4 though. All four of them are the protagonists. There are some stories where Reed takes the center, but in most iterations all four of them are equals. That’s why people are saying this is the most faithful F4 adaptation we’ve ever gotten. The main character is the family dynamic
Interesting
Maybe it was a real baby but they cgi the face or the eyes in some scenes? Or she’s just talking about her scenes in particular were with a real baby. Or I have no idea what’s real or fake anymore

The shots with Ben have to be CGI with how some of them looked man

The scenes where Ben is holding the baby are what stands out most, probably has to do with the cgi behind Franklin

It definitely looked real for the most part idk what people are talking about. Just a few scenes where it was obviously cgi.
saw this today. and it's good lol. if this wasn't decimated by feige and had 30+ minutes we'd be looking at a top tier CBM.
great cast, great visuals (how did they do it in the small time they had i dunno), shakman might be great
also, this is low-key better than superman lol.
at least the main characters are adapted better + visually superman stinks

There were some things that I actually loved in this movie, but overall this was weak as hell
