Seth Rogen needs to hire Boyega and make a film called F u, I don’t need your support”
Yeah you right about that. By all measures the "right" people are in place. The bigger problem is how a guy with Chauvin's rap sheet was still on the force. That kind of thing is what these protests are trying to highlight
Cuz neither party actually gives a s***
What happened?
You saw the movies right?
He went from having an important arc set up for him in episode 7, to basically becoming a comic relief character with a little bit of importance in episode 9.
Scary though but if people move on to a new thing to hold onto like they usually do, this would have all been for nothing. Remember people discussing world war 3 earlier this year?
we can talk theoretically about what would or wouldn't work if we were to start from step 0, but that's unfortunately not where we are right now. you aren't going to have an anarchist "state"/anarchist territory so long as other countries exist in a globalized economy. if you want to move towards a police-less state it's not going to happen overnight, it's just not, the culture isn't there for it.
The idea needs to be on the table. And I'm not advocating for an anarchist state anyway

Seth Rogan & John Bodega are the real celebrity MVPS of all this TBH.
John for his passion and Seth Rogan cuz he took the time to say "fuck you" to every person that commented all lives matter
Obviously I'm joking guys
What happened?
Set his character in the first movie ip to be a major player in the sequel trilogy, turned out to be a goddamn token black character
and little s*** like making him smaller on posters to get that sweet Chinese money

realistically in the modern post-industrial age you're not just going to have a country without a police force unless you're advocating essentially for an ancap state where all security is privatized, which I am near certain that is not what you want. if you want to discuss the idea of abolishing the current idea of police and replacing them with an equivalent yet heavily reformed alternative, then that's a separate thing, sure, but that's not how you phrased it

The world war 3 talk lasted 3-4 days. This has been going on for a week and this train is not slowing down, despite the powers that be trying to meekly appease the people, by starting up NBA again and indicting all 4 officers, which should've happened 5 DAYS AGO.

You abolish them and replace them with social/medical/trauma ppl whatever you want to call them. All community based
f***ing hell, couldn't be more blatant

We’re gonna need a civil war if we wanna see this type of change but I’m with you on that

I don’t think it was for nothing. Without this past week, those other officers would NOT have been charged and I’m not even 100 percent sure Chauvin would have been charged. Companies and celebrities have pledged millions To help with the fight. And more people are aware now. The effects of the George Floyd riots are yet to fully be seen, but at least were on our way.
what are people's ideas for instating police reform? I think most people would at least agree on, to begin with realistically:
-breaking up police unions or limiting union power
-community-based reform, officers should only be hired locally and must reside in communities they police in
-at least some degree of no-tolerance laws for violence/escalation
other tangential ideas would probably include;
-more transparent policing & community data/access for civilians
-removing any form(s) of minimum sentencing
this is obviously just a start and removed from wider abstract concepts but this is all realistic and could be passed and put very quickly into place. longer term goals would be like ending the war on d****, weakening the DEA & changing the purpose of state troopers, prison reform, etc.
This fella is equipped with a lot of graphs and sources so he may be into something

all i would say is that if police in their current form are agents of capital and the state then real change cannot come from mere reforms to policing but with reforms, or rather, abolition, of the current political and economic system that they are in place to defend.
