Clearly not if everyone here is bashing him
Yes a internet forum thread with 200 replies is representative of the rest of the hip hop fanbase
crine dog threads like these is what reminds me of the type of losers i be arguing with on here
a nigga really said c2 aint a classic
Bro comparing Wayne to King Los lmao

Hot take but
C3 got too many skips/filler songs to be a classic. Niggas so blinded by nostalgia and it being the peak of Wayne hype. That's the album is where I stopped being a Wayne fan. Some good songs but as an album that s*** was actually weak and I always felt that way.
You didn’t answer my question
No I don’t have an issue with a bound2 or an alchemist track because the quality is much better. Wayne just going in the booth and smoking & rapping over out of tune out dated beats with corny sounds from when daws first started popping up is not the same. It’s cool that’s what you like and probably loved in the moment when it came out, I like some of it too, but none of that is classic

Whats the most recent classic rap album to you?
Whats the most recent classic rap album to you?
Probably GNX but im am not a Kendrick Stan. Me personally I would say Ramona Park Broke my Heart but it’s severely overlooked
He’s about to drop one of the worst albums this planet has ever heard.. I hate to say it.
I Am Not A Human Being?
Carter 4?
Free Weezy Album?
Carter 5?
Funeral?
he’s got more than just that and you just yapping s*** and excluding the mixtapes to get off a disingenuous take cause there’s nothing you can discernibly tell me was trash about the albums above if you actually listened to them genuinely
Ngl FWA one of the worst things I’ve ever heard by him

For years Wayne fans have tried to force that as his classic since it fits SOME criteria, are you really comparing that to the undeniable classic of the genre? Like could you even say what makes that album classic??
I mean I guess if you want to be technical, in the GOAT category you can arrange the discographies how you like. If Lil Wayne is your least strongest that doesn’t change the fact that he was monumentally influential, has decades of well known and well received work, and beloved. Sounds like much ado about nothing to me just someone wanting to have a hot take

C3 and C2 are undeniable classics. What are we even talking about man

how on earth u can say that Carter 2 ISNT a classic
have u listened to the album
People who think mixtapes are somehow less than albums are clueless (and probably racist) losers who don’t understand how hip hop in particular works, or music as a whole for that matter.
It’s a really dog s***, cynical, and ahistorical way of looking at music in general. The same thing that mixtapes do has largely been the format for a large part of music history. Offering a new take on an already existing song isn’t lazy or uninventive. In fact this is largely how music progressed and new sounds were discovered for centuries going back to spirituals and folk songs. Even amongst modern music, whether that be the Great American Song Book, the way jazz takes songs and reinvents them hundreds of times over in new ways, or even just the simple act of sampling and interpolation which is practiced across genres
Charles Mingus for example would re-record his own compositions multiple times in radically different ways under different titles. He consider his compositions to be “living documents” that could be reinterpreted and built upon forever. Someone doing this with someone else’s original composition is no less legitimate.
But when it comes to rap specifically, discounting mixtapes as being lesser than albums is an insanely white take and extremely disrespectful to a culture which has always had mixtapes as a centerpiece.
Also excluding his mixtape discography is being purposefully obtuse like that is a major component to his career. So because they weren’t officially released under a label they don’t count? The intent was the same and also a different era in time. Him doing that honestly speaks more to me because he really did that s*** for the love of the game

It was one of the first albums I bought as a kid, it is not timeless lol. You don’t hear it brought up anywhere other than forums of Wayne fans trying to claim it’s classic. When is the last time you heard it outside
Probably GNX but im am not a Kendrick Stan. Me personally I would say Ramona Park Broke my Heart but it’s severely overlooked
that trash ass vince staples album lmaooo

none of the albums u listed fit any criteria of being a classic

Better than every single Wayne album and if u think it’s trash your opinion on music is that of a swifties
We talking about albums, original creations.
The fact that people can’t defend the albums and immediately jump to mixtapes to defend Wayne is the biggest tell that this take isn’t too off the mark.
U sound like those people that say sampling isn't art cause it's stealing

you dont even believe that. You not a hiphop fan tbh so I get it.
