This song reminds me of when Uzi dropped this lol.
one of his best songs, this direction would’ve been fire.
I’m still trying to figure out why he’s so obsessed with high school at his age

that was the first thing I thought too
feels kinda like lir2 uzi which is my favourite uzi so great for me
song definitely gonna grow on me so far its sounding great
glad he didn’t just go completely back to his old sound as the fans wanted the old uzi
he still managed to bring something really new and it sounds pretty fresh, perfect combination of old and some new sounds for me
Definitely has a mid 2000s scene vibe to it. I can see why people wouldn't dig it. Just from the audio tho, lyrically I dont hear too much that is really about "high school" Could metaphorically be about demons in general or d*** addiction.
I understand why a lot of ya’ll don’t fw it
But I really like it, I love Pop-Uzi
Always wanted him to go more pop, he suits pop-songs so well and as a sound, it’s fairly untapped for him
My only criticism is that he shouldn’t have incorporated the high-school theme into it, he should have cut the outro and done different visuals - it should have been marketed as a straight pop/love/heartbreak song, it’d have been received better

I absolutely agree. The intro and outro are a bit corny but once the hook starts, it just progressively gets better as a song.

Maybe I'm just jaded now that the melodic rap lane is extremely flooded but this s*** just seems incredibly generic. Like this would have passed in 2016-17 but now it just feels like any other Lil Tecca/Kid Laroi/Iann Dior song and Uzi is just capable of so much more now IMO. And I love pop-melodic Uzi, its easily one of his biggest strengths, this just isnt it for me tho. To me its missing that touch that makes it an "Uzi" song and not just anyone elses song I think thats my biggest hold up

I hear ya, I hear the Laroi/Dior comparisons as well
I think I'm being forgiving since it's the lead single, and I know that the rest of the project won't sound like this

Same energy as this first listen.
I need to sit on this song for a bit before I call it trash
Okay 2nd half of the song is better as it progresses along. Not a bad song for sure.
But I guess this is divisive lol
