I think the song is fine but it just feels really safe. I think the thing I used to like about Uzi was his experimentation with sounds and making something that sounded exclusively like an Uzi song. This sounds like any melodic rapper nowadays could have made it. Song sounds very polished but then 20 MINS came on right after hearing this one and it’s also a polished song that just is better in every way. It’s not meant for the OG Uzi crowd it’s clearly for the radio/playlist crowd but we will see when more stuff starts coming out about Pink Tape
This song reminds me of when Uzi dropped this lol.
I think this song is much more interesting, there’s a huge progression, it’s very different from what Uzi was doing at the time. It’s like a constantly changing song outside the hook and has this really chaotic type of feel that keeps it really engaging throughout

The actual tape gonna have more classic Uzi, this was just an easy hit

Yup thats the thought, but this aint doing much for me. I think this kinda started with That Way, taking a well established song as a base (this reminds me of some song I just cant put my finger on it but the melody on the hook and bridge is eerily familiar) and just making a generic radio hit (but at least the verses were interesting in that song). Even Futsal was kinda a move in a different direction, but like our other singles pre release were like 7AM, Money Longer, XO, etc. and all are much more interesting songs.
This s*** ain’t even experimental it sounds like a kid Larry song
smh hate to say it but yah
Demon high thought this was gna be some d*** s*** not abt some damn high school

If you look at it super metaphorically the girl in the song could be the d**** (also random lyrics like giving up his life for her, igniting the flame, demons coming out of him, the intro outro could be like the d**** talking to him) but thats a Halo Reach
ok Imma need Uzi to full send the That Way/Demon High sound he working with with the Pink Tape

I mean any melodic rapper in the mainstream could make that album, why have Uzi make that when he's capable of so much more? Leave that s*** to Kid Laroi or something
I mean look at the difference between Carti and Uzi at this point, one is playing it super safe and riding the coattails of his earlier career when he was more experimental and trying to make interesting music instead of playing it safe and the other is pushing the genre with something very different and while not received well on release, is extremely well liked now and most the fanbase is ride or die about it. And a lot has to do with the social media interaction, Uzi clearly is taking it to heart and Carti is just doing what he wants and thats why I feel much more interested in whats next for Carti cause if we are getting more Uzi stuff like this, its gonna just come and go in a month and he'll continue to fall off
This guy knows his audience
I’m with you my guy, I don’t think the musics gonna last until he tunes the fans out and just go and make music from the heart again
