The crux of his argument is trans people need to have this in depth explanation of their case ready to educate at all times, which really isn’t their job to educate the world on, or else theyre

“people like you who just scream s*** at people do more harm than good and are annoying to interact with“

He started this conversation talking about theyre “virtue signaling”, this conversation is so disingenuous. Now he’s calling people retar*s, so I’m not surprised at all he feels like that

    ???

I never said trans people need to have that type of knowledge or are required to do that. You can argue for trans rights without being f***ing trans you moron.

okay so if comparing another vile thing to this vile thing somehow is validation in your brain,

    Godspeed soldier

It went over your head I guess.

I'll just say you need to come to terms with people not seeing you how you want to be seen, but as long as they aren't harming, or actively disrespecting you, you have to take it on the chin, or just go where you're appreciated, and not tolerated.

  • I like how blonded was the only one being hounded on because he gave some leeway about trying to unpack the situation

Literally you in this thread a few minutes ago:

“because people like you who just scream s*** at people do more harm than good and are annoying to interact with
nobody who disagrees with you is brought to your side because you say "this is transphobic", "this is homophobic", "trans women are women"
you need to build the steps to get there. WHY are trans women, women? WHY was outing homophobic to begin with, WHY is it transphobic when it occurs with a trans man or woman?
just stating that these actions are -phobic with nothing else is literally shouting into the void and is basically a virtue signal-level engagement with the topic”

I mean, in cases where you're going to show up and make a claim, you do have to be able to explain why you're saying that? Like @hng221 said something, I followed up on it, and now it's resolved because we came to an understanding that the issue was a colloquialism and not an actual denial of circumstances. Like yeah you don't have to explain the morality of something, but I'm sure you'd agree the entire argument would have been averted had the original post(s) simply been more clear to what my discussion drew out rather than it using a direct mantra or accusation? Like why even leave a comment on a forum or social media if the expectation isn't to have a discussion? It's not reddit where you're upvoting/downvoting, you're contributing to a conversation, the expectation is that you'll talk more on your contribution.

Why is it on trans people to make their case and prove themselves or else their argument is worthless and they deserve ridicule? People should have empathy and understanding for others, trans people constantly have to make a case for themselves because people are not interested in being divorced from their own biases and ignorance. Why the f*** do they need to give you an entire breakdown on it, s*** is basic understanding of s***and gender

ill bite on this and try to answer it in a kinder way than some others are

sadly, this excerpt just answers your question, and i give this all a preface that i do not like this state of affairs we are in and i wish it could progress towards that vision where these things don't need to be explained, and that it takes on the "hegemonic" cultural position

Why the f*** do they need to give you an entire breakdown on it, s*** is basic understanding of s***and gender

This excerpt of your post unfortunately answers your question.

This conception of sex/gender identity is something that has only entered mainstream society extremely recently, the early-mid 2010s at the earliest. Previously, this was relegated to sectors of society people didn't care about/either held active hostility against, which is queer people/subcultures and the more progressive edges of academia (particularly liberal arts, philosophy and gender studies/womens studies). I am speaking in the American/Western context by the way, which does hang over other cultures as a result of colonialism and other related processes and many of the reactionary thought has gotten into those other cultural contexts as a result.

It is paradigm-shifting, for the better, but obviously reactionaries will always hold a grudge against it, since it shakes up the previous "gender hierarchy" that we are all accustomed to believe and that the conception that s***IS gender, which is still the predominant way of thinking about this topic sadly.

Obviously WE understand why that is wrong, and that gender and s***aren't connected. Even the concept of "biological sex" itself currently has its doubts and criticisms, largely by boundary-pushing trans thinkers, but even those are still niche as well.

Because these conversations go on everyday constantly all over the world, they KNOW why it’s transphobic, and even when it’s explained to them they still dig their feet in further and solidify how they feel. These arguments aren’t f***ing new everyone has had them at this point. This is literally happening in this thread. Just look at how people are reacting to a trans person making a case for themself.

Well I think @Skrilla entire point he was making is that your style of educating people is not going to work and you're just going to have to accept that or make changes.

Like even itt you're using slogans and insults and thats to a community (KTT2) where majority already meet you at least 1/2 way and the only issue is a minor disagreement. Imagine trynna educate someone from a more traditional culture. It's not happening lol.

we're having discourse about trans issues, but you're complaining that a trans person/pro trans person shouldn't have to explain their position when engaging in discourse. c'mon man.

we ain't saying to give your life story to every person that ask, but if you're engaging in actual lengthy discourse, I think that is the appropriate setting to expound on your position.

And they did. So now what? Is your mind changed from “do she got a d***” to now you’re fully accepting of trans people? A KTT explanation changed your worldview? Be real
