in this whole thread i havent been racist once while @op has been extremely prejudice but im not reporting s***

even though i have not once treated a black person or person of colour differently, wasn't raised that way, wasn't even raised around white people only like other white people are, my neighbours are Persian, Jamaican and Guatemalan

But lived experience is a real thing.

How can you even assess Kanye West without ever spending time in a black church? You can LIKE IT, you can a***yze it, but it's disappointing to hear people championing guys like him and his opinion given a real lack of lived experience.

it also depends on how people interpret the experience.

for example, i like a lot of songs and artists whose content is straight street type s***, and while i’ve never delt d**** like that or been in shootout/been shot…

i relate to the single parent / father not there / family broke / against all odds to make it / people doubt you type themes that that type of music puts out

you don’t have to relate directly if you can connect to the artist through the overall theme
