Fantano's opinions on music are fine

It's the people who extrapolate his opinion and turn it into matter of fact that are the issue.

He gets paid to overanalyze a culture that he quite frankly has not and never will live.

Black music, Television, and Films are seen are “lesser art” unless they play into tropes of white media or media that’s usually palatable to a white audience

Just look at how many movies are seen as classics in the black community yet are panned by white outlets. It’s gotten better over time but there’s no denying that there’s heavy bias and discrimination at play. Whether or not that applies to CLB and DONDA is one thing, but the trend is obvious.

That's kind of like what Fantano does when he dips his toes into Hip-Hop.

He knows nothing about Strip club Houston culture, he knows nothing about the dynamics of what Drake is talking about, he probably has never experienced what a black church is like in regards to Ye,

So it is IMO kind of nasty that he has such a highly valuable opinion in the space. But it's not bothersome because everyone's entitled to their opinion.
