DAMN. was lower than GKMC after the first couple of months but now its my number 2. This is probably gonna end up around that ballpark aswell, but man i feel grateful to witness this mans career
Feel like people who make rap or have attempted to make rap before can really appreciate the level required to what he does more.. crazy how skilled he is

Without kendrick I would be depressed at the last decade of hip hop.
I feel like its gonna be one of those albums alot of us don't play much after the first couple of weeks but thats only because of how dense and heavy this album is emotionally. Its a piece of art. And sometimes art is uncomfortable.
People said that about TPAB after release but i always thought had high replay value. Dont get me wrong, this does, but interesting to see in a couple months if im religiously playing it as much. Atm its all ive listened to which is a good sign

Absolutely
Some of the songs he made i cant even comprehend making
Starting from ADHD in 2011 to s*** on this new album
I see a lot of similarities between some themes on this album and CMIYGL.
This album is probably a bit more mature and vulnerable but also more weighty for better or worse.

2 of the 3 rap albums Iāve absolutely adored so far this decade
I feel like when you make a TPAB-tier album youāre f***ed for a while after, like you could say he made the best album of his genre and nobody would bat an eye ... idk but I like the honesty out this project but you could cut half the songs and I wouldnāt care, really boring

It wouldāve definitely felt like a massive missing piece without him.
he coulda done a lot better tbhh this feels rushed the highs are high tho
Rushed? You're hilarious.

I create rap music and Kendrick is someone i look up to on a technical and artistic level. This album is the kind of album I want to make someday.
This album got Untitled Unmastered vibes
Nothing on here is untitled 5 quality tho

Does anybody feel as though they're in that room with kendrick and his family as they listen to this? It's so intimate, it draws me into his world
This s*** is so heavy itās almost uncomfortable, like some of it really hits home. Didnāt think making an album harder to fully ingest than TPAB was a possibility but he took it like 30 steps further

I understand this.
For me this has more highs than DAMN. For me I had like 3 OH S*** moments on my first listen. For Mr Morale I had at least 6 oh s*** moments.

TPAB was such a unique experience for me in that I felt my enjoyment of it peaked around the 20th listen. It just kept getting better and better to a degree I canāt think of for another album.
And to be honest I was reading explanations of it online to better understand how each track fit into the narrative. Not that I couldnāt comprehend it on my own but I enjoyed reading a***ysis of it

I dream of making something this honest and inspired

Definitely see this album inspiring a lot of artists.

Thankfully this album does offer breathers. Its not all completely bleak although the bleak moments on here are super bleak.

I really loved CMIYGL. Itās not too popular on here, but I thought it was incredible. I think this album will have a similar place with me as I revisit it more. Itās a lot to unpack. I always like when musicians remove the mask (N95) and show who they are. Break the kayfabe. Thereās not much outward lecturing on this album. A lot of it is inward scolding.
