It’s a bit more nuanced than that but I don’t think people are calling him conservative lol
People mainly have issue with the the use of the F word and the constant misgendering/deadnaming of his cousin
I've seen a bunch of Twitter posts in here of people claiming conscious rap is now conservative because of this album ha
As for him using the word in the song, I get why that's jarring, but I think the song is a timeline showing his growth. Showing he thought it was ok to say it, then at the very end finally gets the gut punch that it's offensice. The whole song is his progression. I'm not going to tell people to not be offended, but I see what he was doing
this
why the f*** did Kendrick think he had to use slurs to convey his message
plenty of men use the f word all the time, its way more common than the n word, thats the point of the damn song lol
The b**** that eat cockroaches out a dustpan want you to prove love by eating her ass
you can praise more than one artist????? say sike
aint no way
With all due respect I cannot tell you how much i disagree with this sentiment, it's just individualism, it won't move society forward, you can go to the gym, go to therapy, meditate all those other things of self improvement while still being concerned with social issues
You don't gotta say SORRY SOCIETY I CHOSE ME, I GOTTA GO TO THERAPY, YOU FIGURE OUT ALL THAT RACISM POVERTY WAR STUFF OUT I DON'T HAVE THE TIME
It also shows what i meant with a poor understanding of the nature of those issues i talked about earlier, bc it's not gonna be solves by individuals becoming better individual people
But whatever im abt to go to the bar with my friends sorry i choose me heh
An individual also won’t move society forward. Why are you trying to force him to? Or why are you saying you don’t like what he’s doing? It does not start or end with him.
Looking back that Cole song was soooooo funny
"Something about the queen's tone that is bothering me"
its different though. there's not really any culture anymore (outside of maybe the deep deep south) where using the n-word as a white person flippantly (especially in a derogatory way towards black people) is acceptable. There are many cultures where the f word is used towards gay people pretty openly to degrade them, even today.
are you saying it’s even worse to say the f word than the n word?? need you to clarify because that’s how i’m interpreting your post
Hard disagree
This is so much more honest than anything Drakes made in over a decade
Less satisfying and easy to listen to maybe but so much more honest
what’s the point if you can’t make the music enjoyable, just write a book then
I respect Kendrick doing whatever the f*** he wanted instead of phoning it in like he did on some of the DAMN and BP songs but some of this s*** doesn’t sound good imo.
There are some dope songs on this but overall this isn’t an enjoyable listen. I listen to music to have a good time, I don’t care how impressive the concept of the album is or how honest Kendrick is on this. @Oblivion99
Worldwide Steppers growing on me now that i'm not directly infront of my speakers
If you're familiar with Ayn Rand, was individualism the same s*** that she was preaching or that's something else entirely? It's an interesting point you're making

"Something about the queen's tone that is bothering me"
most passive aggressive song ever recorded son
Taylour Paige’s raspy voice…
need her to talk me thru a n*t
I see and f*** with the vision
To me that is expectations of him being a savior
Why do people need Kendrick during the George Floyd protests? To tell them how to feel or what to do? Isn’t it obvious?
I feel like that need is expecting him to come in and save everything when in reality he wouldn’t be able to do anything that others weren’t already trying to do
It’s not necessarily to tell people how to move or how to think, but to hear the opinions and viewpoints of an artist who has made a career out of being socially and politically aware. That doesn’t equate to viewing him as some sort of messianic figure
why are yall hating we cry together
they say it sounds like eminem too much

The b****es shat on him after that s*** dropped too
