Was on Nine Vicious pretty early (a little before B4TM dropped)
But I love music, I’ll give damn near anything a listen if it sounds good
It’s been a minute
I’m stuck in the blog era forever I think unfortunately
Central Cee couple years back like 2022ish. Idk last time ive like a new rapper sadly

how do you know it sounds good before you listen
how do you know it sounds good before you listen
Previews, short form content, features, singles

As long as it isn’t just flat out jarring, I’ll listen.
nina jirachi in the fall.
started getting into arthur russel a s***load the last like month, never listened to him before.
they certaintly are both new favourite artists of mines
id say like 60% of what i listen to is new artists i havent heard before easily. pretty much same ratio its always been. and im finding new artist i like at the same rate ive always had
(30)
A f*** with a lot of new artist but none can be called new favorites.
I guess the one with the most play and one I'm heavily watching is lilito. Even tho she rarely drops. And technically not new

Last artist i found that i rly like is adynify
Loukeman this year
I can't get with a lotta the new wave dudes (che, diamond, etc) but nine and PZ are both hitting for me
I tend to find artists that are new to me, not new artists. There's a great big world with a long history and gems all throughout it
molly santana last year
favorite is something that develops over time for me, theres a bunch of new stuff i like but only time will tell if it stays with me
last one was prob big thief though

also this tbh
Usually every year there is an artist or band who rises toward all time favorite level for me
I saw this one tweet where someone 30 years old said their top 3 was Soulja Boy, Chief Keef, and Carti ( think there was a thread on here about it)
what interested me wasn't the actual top 3, but the people replying saying, of course they were his favorite artists, they all popped during his formative years as someone who is 30
which made me think—do our favorite artists NEED to come from our formative years?
Is it possible for an artist to make an impact with the same kind of depth later in life as it was for artists to do it when we were 16 or 20?
I'm curious what your experiences are
I mean i'm not necessarily searching for the new Guy anymore
I think as I get older my hunger for 'new' really got replaced by chasing true Quality, and trying to dive into the artists that influenced my favorite artists, going back and not digging online.
Like some of my favorite artists I've been listening to are people like Tears For Fears, Soundgarden, Beach Boys, The Police, Delegation, acts that are far older than me but I simply didn't experience in real time
I turn 25 tomorrow I’m sick to my stomach
