Nourished By Time is a chosen one
actually yh this him n devin anderson more recently
i thought the cut off age was 30?
im pushing 30 and still finding new artists.
im ngl i find a new one every year. will always have my core artists but in the last few years (dating back to 2023) i’ve become a big fan of Kenny Mason, Vince Staples, Cousin Stizz, Isaiah Rashad, Qendresa, Malz Monday. Obviously i’ve heard of a few of these artists in the past but wasnt really tapped into their discography the way i am now
Jim Legxacy last year
Real. I think he will be a popular choice in our age demo because he cares in a way that reminds many of us of our favorites
I don't even know what a "favorite artist" is anymore. A lot of that stuff is tied up in nostalgia. Different music has connected with me during different periods of my life. I don't think it sounds the same without the same context. Which is fine? I'm okay with leaving it in that context for the most part. I'm looking for what connects with me the most right now.
Played the hell out of this Love Rarely album this year. Nothing scratches the same itch. It combines a ton of stuff I've enjoyed in the past in a unique, singular way. Living through peak screamo, going back to math rock and even surf. Being into girl fronted punk bands. All of that pays off here. The past adds up.

i find a new artist every other month tbh
this year
last week, dragnutz
Last year, jane remover. I beat the unc allegations
Probably weekly or maybe more on average
My aoty top 3 or 5 for 2025were all artists I found over the last 2ish years. I think at least 1 I didn't know until 2025
Ngl I'm at the age where if i haven't gotten into your music by now i prob wont ever
Last year Jaeychino, also found out about Felix Lee this year
Got into Fakemink at 24 but it’s giving me brain damage and I should probably stop
zach bryan 2023 probably but yea I don't put effort into it anymore. streaming is also to blame
Tiffany Day and Kenny Mason
2012
everytime I listen to music i listen to something new
Depends on the genre because rap as of lately been dead to me for new artists the last new rap/UG artist I gave a chance was fakemink and bruh was serious ass but I’m willing to give s*** a listen if the artist has that spark
Dijon the most recently
But I find new favorite artists all the time and I’m in my 50s
Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marci, Mach-Hommy, etc. So around the 2010's
Like a legitimate favorite? Probably not since like early 2010s lol. Everyone I f*** with heavy I discovered around the same time. I guess I’d probably say it took me awhile to come around on Future (and I’m talking like super early Future) until about Pluto dropped then I was hooked. Also took me awhile to come around on Chance post Acid Rap because of his voice but wouldn’t consider him a favorite. Lot of solid new artists but nobody that’s making any of my all time lists
Last year, 2 artists actually
But I have to push myself nowadays to listen to new s***. I def rely on old favorites
I found a new favorite artist just last month
