That s*** is dope but I genuinely feel like Section80 is part of the reason why people label Kendrick with the backpack s***
Kendrick needed all those eras in my opinion to be what he became.

This. When it comes to Kendrick, I've always felt his album rankings reflect more the fans' relationship with a project and the point in time they are at in their life.
The only modern high-profile rapper I can think of with a similar discography is Kanye's run with College Dropout to MBTDF. Groups that had this type of run were Outkast before Idlewild and ATCQ.
At this point in time...
TPAB
DAMN.
Section.80
GKMC
Mr. Morale
GNX
Always subject to change. But I really haven't been going back to GNX. Have only had maybe 5 full listens. "man at the garden" one of the best rap songs all year though.
Glad it's not just me. Don't know if it's the sound or lack of a concept/narrative but I just don't have any desire to come back to this album
I got MM down there too, only difference between our rankings is I have GKMC higher

I try to consider Idlewild as just a movie soundtrack
Speakerboxx double album is their last one in my head

I agree. With TPAB being the midpoint on some Hero’s Journey s***

Wholeheartedly feel this way

Waking up from a dream of talking to Pac is a wild midpoint
If ye wasn’t a washed up AI artist I would’ve loved to hear him do a remix to a gnx
Tell em Yeezy did it

That ain't his fault though. His whole thing has always been "don't box me in". People just can't help it
Apples and oranges
Sxn 80 is more for like, nas fans
Mellow smooth and introspective for most part
Gnx is like 80% up tempo bangers
And Lupe lol.
When I heard Section 80 I was like damn, Lupe better watch out lol. And it was around the time Lupe was falling off.
Might be reaching but I felt like Kendrick took a shot at Lupe too on waccced out murals when Kendrick brought up f*** a double entendre, I want yall to feel this s*** and old ass flows/ being outdated. I thought of Lupe too since he been hating hard lately. Kendrick ignores him but that felt like a shot for him too.
Even if it wasn’t I bet Lupe felt some kind of way if he heard it

It’s sad that Kendrick and Kanye never got time to lock in at their primes for multiple records.
They we’ve worked so well.

He was not playing when he said he took inspiration from Ab Soul lmao. The next year, Soul releases Control System
It would've been considerably better for me without Purple Hearts, Die Hard, We Cry Together, Count Me Out, Auntie Diaries, and Mother I Sober
man some of those songs are absolute all timers
I was reminded that his film is coming out in July. Tour ends in June. We’ve had rumors of two albums since February, conceptual and a straight rap album. We got GNX, so what if the concept album is a soundtrack?
Btw the concept album is supposed to sound like “I Feel Something”, the full song is finished and just sitting somewhere
Christmas is cancelled
MERRY GNXMAS
