Poe Man's dream still clears till this day

Poe Mans Dreams will always be a top 5 Kendrick song to me
This. When it comes to Kendrick, I've always felt his album rankings reflect more the fans' relationship with a project and the point in time they are at in their life.
The only modern high-profile rapper I can think of with a similar discography is Kanye's run with College Dropout to MBTDF. Groups that had this type of run were Outkast before Idlewild and ATCQ.
having s80 over MMTS and GNX is insane to me honestly, i wonder how much nostalgia factors in. kenny has improved so much since 2011 in every way
It would've been considerably better for me without Purple Hearts, Die Hard, We Cry Together, Count Me Out, Auntie Diaries, and Mother I Sober
Love Die Hard

This is crazy to me. Those songs, apart from Die Hard, are a big part of the meat of the album.
I really recommend you go back to them, as you said you've only listened once.
P.S. We Cry Together is an amazing performance even though it's a song that we wouldn't want to replay lots of times
We're far from good, not good from far
90 miles per hour down Compton Boulevard
With the top down, screamin', "We don't give a f***"
Drink my 40-ounce of freedom while I roll my blunt
'Cause the kids just ain't alright
Oh s***, nigga
Somethin' 'bout to happen
Nigga, this s***
Nigga, this sound like 30 keys under the Compton Court building
Hope the dogs don't smell it
Glad it's not just me. Don't know if it's the sound or lack of a concept/narrative but I just don't have any desire to come back to this album
I got MM down there too, only difference between our rankings is I have GKMC higher
Yeah, GKMC and S.80 can alternate but GKMC has definitely grown off of me as the years pass, whereas some of those S.80 tracks still amaze me each play. Might've overplayed GKMC those first few years lol.

I went back today after I posted I probably put some extras on it, because it is "good" music but it was and still is too safe in it's sound. All except WCT
I'll still stand by the messaging being strong but those songs being apart of what I listen to often is not something I see changing for myself
It would've been considerably better for me without Purple Hearts, Die Hard, We Cry Together, Count Me Out, Auntie Diaries, and Mother I Sober
Cutting Count Me Out and Mother I Sober is certainly an opinion
I could honestly do without Father Time as well
What the hell is your problem
We Cry Together and Auntie Diaries are the only 2 I could really do without. Brilliant concepts but musically they are a chore to listen to.
What the hell is your problem
A lot of the context in those songs had long been evaluated and at some point almost like a bridge to cross. So, being well acquainted with those themes only things left for me to connect with was either the beat and/or melodies and those aren't in my wheelhouse

Okay now you have to go
to town on these niggas

Well subjectively I can understand that.
I just get passionate about music and while Mr. Morale isn’t his best or perfect to me, I have a deep enjoyment of it.
Cheers
What's the best to you
Wesley's Theory will never be topped to me
