Absolutely. They should pick up Marco plus and Asha Imuno.
I’d say 454 but I think my nigga will forever be independent
454 on TDE would be crazy lol idk if I see it but I would be happy
Sir is dope
He was their best around that time but reason, Zacari and lance skiiwalker
Jadakiss a real one
Now let’s see these niggas try and hate on Kiss
Need opening day to come, like rn.
Yeah ngl he was hoopin this series made it even more satisfying when Knicks sent him home
Because yall engaging with folks that got into hip hop as a tool (similar to buddy buddy) and not as a way of life
I think about "You Ain't Gotta Lie" a lot
That might be the track I go back to the most on TPAB these days. Especially after the beef
we really never know how this nigga gon come
Right! Like he’s reinvented himself ever album. Having expectations is cool and sort of being a fan but sometimes you just gotta let the artists be the artist
That might be the track I go back to the most on TPAB these days. Especially after the beef
It's soooo laid back I love it
RT
They tryna make him Voodoo era D'Angelo with the promo of the last joint lol
facts I peeped that
He was their best around that time but reason, Zacari and lance skiiwalker
I like Lance on some features but yeah I remember listening to a mixtape of his back then and not really thinking much of it. The other two I never gave a chance unless Zacari did a feature
Reason just always seemed like he’s only there because he’s from Cali

nah, reason was there cuz they needed a substitute teacher
I think about "You Ain't Gotta Lie" a lot
what do u got to offer? tell me before we off ya
what do u got to offer? tell me before we off ya
And put you deep in that coffin
I agree with you on how detached mainstream hip hop has become to speaking on real issues but it’s not a Kendrick and Drake thing it’s intentional. Music with a purpose simply isn’t being pushed to the forefront and when you do make music like that you get pigeonholed the same way people on here do Kendrick because of albums like TPAB.
That being said I’m not expecting every rapper to drop a verse centered around current events. It would be dope but unfortunately I think people would move past it.
Like I said, folks only listening to hip hop as a tool.
Dead prez, paris, the coup, and immortal technique werent exactly billboard charting darlings even back then
black panther soundtrack so underrated
maaan TDE with another great pick bruh her music is great
https://twitter.com/alemeda/status/1837159178550575552This probably needs its own thread too
Theres a ghais/goyard tweet about this fascination from white/black liberals demanding black ppl (who prolly have done more for the struggle by simply existing let alone the moves made in silence) to fight for causes that they themselves dont do in their own life hol on
Aye you can feel over you want to feel.. but why would you expect rap beef to center around the Palestine conflict or anything really political?
not center around it's more like that it's just ignored completely during all this. like I don't even expect them to drop a song about it just to use their platform to speak on it
atm is rly just a time where silence on this does have to be read as taking a stand on it if you're a politically minded artist imo. it's not that I want to cancel Kendrick over this either it's just one of many little disappointments

Yeah I said that on another post like as much as Hip hop gets heralded as being controversial some of the more “radical” groups never got that mainstream push and if they did get put ona platform they were removed off it once they stood on business.
And even when they were more radical acts that still wasn’t the mainstream. If that wasn’t the case those groups and rappers don’t be rappin about how wack and fake the mainstream was at that time
Like I said, folks only listening to hip hop as a tool.

back in the day, tons of high quality hip-hop was underground and the underground artists wanted it that way
to them it was a badge of honor and real. mainstream was considered corporate and selling out
less focus on catchy hooks and more emphasis on straight bars
Bruh you got so many niggas clipped in one week
OVHoes on crash out missions the more these investigations close in on papi.
It’s like cornering an animal, they have no where to go but lash out.
Shame it won’t save their boy

I feel that but I think that’s more of a testament to society rn like it shouldn’t feel like something as important as the conflict would take a “backseat” to rap beef
But that being said there are hundreds of thousands of people out here that are keeping their focus on both or multiple things that’s going on today.. because that’s the world we live in.
It wouldn’t been cool for Kendrick to mention what’s goin on but then the niggas that hate Kendrick would use that as him “abusing his platform” to milk the conflict for beef purposes.
