How is it not on Drake? It’s clear RICO is a song that Quentin made for him that he gave to Meek.

Drake wasn’t gonna use it and gave it to meek.

Meek had no idea that Drake didn’t write the song and had to have someone tell him the lines weren’t disses because Drake didn’t write them.

You have to be doing a lot of jumping through hoops to assume that this isn’t on Drake

So, if 4 producers worked on the song, you believe that's also on Drake to tell Meek all their names, when he himself might not know?

The parent publishing company holds the information of the song splits, along with the names of everyone who contributed on each song. That information is relayed to the record labels who use that information to know how the money will get split up once residuals starts to come in, as well as what names to put up in the credits. The record label is in charge of that, NOT Drake.

Features get traded back and forth all the time in the music business and that's how that process works. When you read an album's liner notes and you see "artist A appears on song B courtesy of record label C" that's because that whole business has been squared up between the labels/publishing companies of every artist on the song. You're welcome.

So nobody but Drake knew QM wrote on the song but it’s somehow not his fault QM didn’t receive his credit?

Well I actually agree that his pen game is strong. I never said that he couldn't and hasn't written. Drake has plenty of talent and know-how in that department and was absolutely a student of the game coming up.

But for years he seemed dead-set on releasing music to an (arguably) oversaturating degree and relying on all of these writers in the process. Then the streams and market share that were produced by those releases are used as reason to title him as the GOAT. Conversely, you have other rappers that have far fewer releases and do not rely these rappers that kind of get penalized in that conversation.

And don't think this is me discounting Drake's music. His music is appealing for a reason. He's massively talented in many areas. It's just my opinion that you can't use these points as an argument that you're the goat rapper when the strength of your argument kind of conflicts with the principle roots of what you're calling yourself the goat at.

Drake has written, he does write and he will write. But if he releases a Drake rap album as the goat rapper, all the bars on the album need to be his. The songs that are clearly pop focused is a different argument.

This is a very fair argument. I do think that his continued reliance on co-writers ties directly to his crazy work rate. You even have people like Taylor Swift, who wrote her first couple albums entirely by herself and is known for her pen, starting to employ the services of co-writers when she ramped up her music output. It's usually what happens in these instances.

It should be noted that compared to Kendrick and J. Cole, Drake has released about 2.5x more music than them across the same time period and that's not even counting features.

Of course, that's not an excuse but it does give context as to why he'd need those co-writers from time to time because no one is releasing 500+ songs and not running out of ideas if there aren't fresh minds making contributions every now and then. No one has to agree with it but that's just the reality of making that much music at a quick rate. These artists aren't gods at the end of the day. They're human and creativity isn't a resource that's endless in supply for anyone.

Again, in the dozens of features Drake has done throughout his career, do you think it is on him to personally know the names of every producer who might have contributed to each song? Answer that question and know peace.

I believe QM didn’t receive a credit for RICO and Blessings because it was a ghost writing situation in its truest form.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were other features he’s given away that were ghost written as well

Didn't you just spend the the last 2 hours trying to establish that you don't need reference tracks to know someone else contributed to a song?

And how funny that you brought up Nas when Quentin Miller has written for Nas before lmao. Just stop it, man.
