Most ghostwriters do not receive public credit for their work, as their anonymity is the key component of the ghostwriting agreement. The word "ghost" signifies that they remain unseen, allowing the credited author to claim the work as their own.
However, some ghostwriters do receive credit, and the extent of their recognition depends entirely on the contractual terms negotiated with the client.

Again, the literal term follows the definition of the word "ghost"writer. It's someone who contributes creatively to a body of work but is anonymous, not credited for their contributions in any public way. Usually — and this is typically done in literary works — agreements between the ghostwriter and the credited writer can be reached in terms of credit but the credit is never to highlight that the ghostwriter wrote or even co-write the book. They're usually credited in some other way, either as a researcher or someone who contributed to the completion of the book in some other significant way but not the one who actually wrote it.

The literal definition of the term is defeated once the ghostwriter receives credit that announces them as the writer because once that happens they stop being a ghostwriter lmao.

This is the musical equivalent of reading an article and skimming through it

Nobody asked if you remembered it

But to say that he only said he was a deadbeat pedophile is just factually incorrect

I was waiting for you to bring this up.

So, I'm guessing you believe Drake's goal was to hide Quentin Miller's contribution to R.I.C.O, while at the same time not only crediting him on every song he contributed to on IYRTITL but also thanking him in the liner notes and publicly partying with him? The whole time, it's clear dude isn't a producer and he wasn't sampled or interpolated on the songs he received credits on. That's who he was trying to keep a secret? Interesting.

Most people don’t check the album credits.

Telling Meek, hey this guy wrote this song is a lot different than hiding his name in the credits. Nobody would have even checked those credits had Meek not said QM name on twitter

Maybe but that's not on Drake. The first thing I do when I buy/press play on an album is go through the credits. I've done that since I was like 8 lmao.

And usually, there's a department om a label who ensures that everyone who contributed to a song gets credited and the legal department of the label clears that up as well. If you check publishing companies like ASCAP or SOCAN, you can see everyone who contributes to a song when you go through their artists on their roster. Ain't nothing like ghostwriters there, it's all laid out.

That's what the label uses to know how the publishing splits are supposed to work because it's also laid out there and they use that to list credits on the albums. That's not on Drake. He's never had an issue giving niggas their credit for his contributions to his songs.

How is it not on Drake? It’s clear RICO is a song that Quentin made for him that he gave to Meek.

Drake wasn’t gonna use it and gave it to meek.

Meek had no idea that Drake didn’t write the song and had to have someone tell him the lines weren’t disses because Drake didn’t write them.

You have to be doing a lot of jumping through hoops to assume that this isn’t on Drake
