She didn’t quickly fall off, she barely releases music

30’s pure sales second week was higher than Showgirl’s too

25: 12x Platinum, former highest-selling debut in the world

30: 3x Platinum, current most-stocked album in Goodwill stores

Not really tbh. Just her first week was inflated by 40 versions.

Still #5 in all-time monthly listeners peak

Monthly listener count rises for about 45 days after a new release so she’s taking back that #1 spot soon, just like she did after her last 2 album launches. Same s*** happens for every other major artists actually. You don’t even have a point with this one

You’re an idiot if you think someone who literally just shattered the most important record of All records have any more f***s to give about what happens week 2

There's actually a Taylor stan on this site? And not just a pop/numbers/streams stan.. like a full fledged Swifty?

The drop was so drastic you have to question whether the 3.5 million or whatever was actually legit.

Bruh are you actually for real with this though? Her numbers are verified by 2 different independent agencies, Luminate & billboard. It’s not like she just makes up a number and then everybody says ok.

Again. Her fans preorder her stuffs online during prerelease, and then all the orders get shipped out within the first week, so it makes no difference if it’s 3.5m or 1.5m copies, Week2 isn’t going to have any more pre-orders left. It’s literally just simple logic folks.

Nah it was its just a bunch of people buying 10-30+ copies. They not gonna buy it again week 2.

Broski out here purposely pretending to not know how preordering works in order to make his bs point lol.

Spotify unique listeners & presave records: (each time broken by her new album)

Midnights — 3.1M pre saves (17.9M unique listeners)

    ttpd — 4.7M pre saves (25.7M unique listeners = 18.2%

Showgirl with 5.7M pre saves, unique listeners count nit published yet.

So your nightmare scenario is literally true lil bro. She gained million more fans with each release. the new fans that bought her albums, did so by preordering through her online store like what most pure-album buyers do nowadays. All the new purchases get shipped out in week1 so the week 2 numbers remained similar. It’s not too hard to comprehend and I think you guys know it deep down, just coping hard it all.

Pre-saves have zero correlation to a fanbase getting bigger. It mostly is just tied to how heavy pre save links are posted on social media by an artist, how heavily Spotify notifies users, how far out pre-saves are available, etc.

You have to be insanely stupid to think she gained 2.5 million new fans buying her music first week in the last 3 years, and then NOTHING in the weeks afterwards.

If an artist sells 100k first week with an album & 10k second week, then their next album does 800k first week do you think the second week sales should be on par for 10k again?

Okay? This doesn’t change the fact that 30 sold more pure copies in its second week than Showgirl will

Yes I do. She is FIFTH all-time in highest monthly listeners, which is a stat that literally just tracks how many individual listeners an artist gets over a 28-day period.

You’re saying she has a bigger fanbase than anyone, but she’s fifth all-time in the stat that literally tracks how many people are listening to your music on a monthly basis.

She’s been #1 for a total of three months in this entire decade

and yes, she absolutely did made 2.5 million new fans from midnights to showgirl. How do you think she went from 400k SEAs with 23 songs to 530k SEAs with 12 songs? How do you think her track 1 got 30 million streams on Spotify on day 1 and is the biggest song in a single week ever?

She gained millions more fans with each new releases, that’s undeniable. Trying to pretend like you couldn’t figure out how preorders work is just silly.

Unique listeners can also be playlist and algorithm driven. A song can be placed on Today’s Top Hits and get 1 million new listeners who listened because it came up in a playlist. Does that mean the artist “gained 1 million new fans”?…

Streaming listeners fluctuate by millions for everyone. I wouldn’t take having 5 million more listeners during one release or one year as literal as “having 5 million new fans” lmao.

Also this logic is pretty much disprovable with any other artist. Gaga has gotten like 50 million new listeners since Die With A Smile, does that magically equate to her having 5x more sales and fans than her previous albums with her new one? No.

    ?

Her all time peak is #1, 113 million or so last year. You’ve been reading fake news.

She’s just fifth right now due to no new release for a year and low playlisting.

6 years later after the industry had fully shifted to streaming dominating and was also recovering from a global pandemic

If Taylor had disappeared after 1989 and dropped folklore in 2020 the same thing would’ve happened

We’re talking about people excited enough to tune in within the first week of release & setting new heights that way (aka fans), we’re not talking about acts that gained extra plays (and then subsequently, listener count) through a year-long residency on the top 1-3 of TTH + all other major playlists and then had to pay back Spotify all the proceeds generated from the song for the said service. Every single tracks from “Showgirl” an average streams of 20M in the first Day. TTH and playlisting is the last thing responsible for her numbers and audience count.

There’s a fundamental difference between the two and you know it. You’re just trying to muddy the water hoping a less knowledgeable individual wouldn’t know the difference.

What Taylor and her team achieved with tloas is nothing short of a masterclass in promotion and execution. We haven’t seen a rollout of this scale and precision in decades. I doubted the initial industry claims about this album being a complete takeover when October hit, but damn was I wrong.

It’s clear they were aiming for a very specific number - 4M.

I knew she was taking that record when I seen her doing an interview while prepping for another 😭 Her work ethic is unmatched. She simply wanted it more.
