The second week numbers prove Taylor’s fanbase isn’t getting bigger, it’s remained the same size and they’re just buying more copies per person.

    2nd week pure sales:
    Midnights - 114k
    Tortured Poets - 107k
    Showgirl - 110k

She keeps having the same drop of buyers second week every single time no matter how much her first week astronomically grows.

If she truly gained 2.5 million new fans buying music between Midnights first week and Showgirl’s first week, then the second/third/etc weeks would also be substantially higher since she’s reaching a new popularity level lol.

I can't say I'm surprised. I don't think anyone would argue that she's the biggest artist in the world right now but yeah, I definitely wish this record went to a much better album in her discography. An album like folklore is more deserving of this record imo. That was my favourite album of 2020.

Is folklore a good starting point for someone who's not that familiar with her discography? Think I only heard one song from evermore but I liked what I heard. Only checked out Midnights in full

That's right. 25 was a phenomenon, Adele's commercial peak. Then she quickly fell off.

Beyonce has had an incredible and stable career for decades.

You keep saying things that I agree with.

She didn’t quickly fall off, she barely releases music

30’s pure sales second week was higher than Showgirl’s too

This applies to the Eras Tour as well if we’re keeping it a buck fifty

Broski out here purposely pretending to not know how preordering works in order to make his bs point lol.

Spotify unique listeners & presave records: (each time broken by her new album)

Midnights — 3.1M pre saves (17.9M unique listeners)

    ttpd — 4.7M pre saves (25.7M unique listeners = 18.2%

Showgirl with 5.7M pre saves, unique listeners count nit published yet.

So your nightmare scenario is literally true lil bro. She gained million more fans with each release. the new fans that bought her albums, did so by preordering through her online store like what most pure-album buyers do nowadays. All the new purchases get shipped out in week1 so the week 2 numbers remained similar. It’s not too hard to comprehend and I think you guys know it deep down, just coping hard it all.

The drop was so drastic you have to question whether the 3.5 million or whatever was actually legit.

    Taylor Swift is an ultra-capitalist

    I promise you she cares

Her and her team are probably already planning for how to get the next one to 5M first week

It’s never enough for people like that
