MidzyBecause their 'global' methodology entails converting music revenue (which is already adjusted for pre sale) to U.S $ value effectively making 1 stream from a poorer country worth a fraction of one from a rich one. Maybe racist wasn't the right term but the chart does not represent popular music globally just privileged countries that earn more; otherwise you'd be seeing Latin and Indian artists on there.
But back to the topic, using IFPI and a service half the size of Spotify with numbers nobody knows to gauge popularity is laughable
IFPI is literally the global organization that collates streaming/sales numbers yearly to determine the biggest songs/albums/artists. They're the only ones you can look to for accurate numbers in every music market across the globe. That's like saying the RIAA is racist.

I was expecting a number. Kinda weird to gauge popularity based on a racist revenue based chart (IFPI) and undisclosed numbers. Especially since the biggest streaming service has its numbers available.

Yep. It's also worth noting that when you add in the streams Drake gets from features as well, he's basically pulling as many streams as Bad Bunny yearly lol. Drake is averaging 10B streams per year (all credits) on Spotify. That's madness.
He surpassed 40B streams in December 2019.
50B streams in January 2021.
60B streams in December 2021.
