Nobody said this man.
But even someone like Weeknd, for as many hit records as he has, I would only argue that a small handful of them were true CULTURAL moments.
Niggas in here saying s*** like Never Recover and Flip the Switch were cultural moments come on dawg lmao
Would you agree that the beef, the Adonis reveal, God’s Plan video, Sicko Mode, and In My Feelings should count as big cultural moments in just 2018?

Nice for what erasure

I think the beef definitely was
Sicko Mode as well
Maybe the God’s Plan video, but I wouldn’t say that the song nor In My Feelings were “cultural moments”

Flawed metric
Not really. Would you say it’s a “flawed metric” to combine all different versions of albums into their final numbers like it has been done?
WAP has 1 million streams less than Old Town Road, and the two songs released within one year of each other.
You’re arguing that Old Town Road is the biggest song of the streaming era, but that WAP became forgotten about quickly. Your own arguments aren’t even consistent in logic
OTR is 17x platinum and has 2.9 billion (all versions) on spotify... wap is not close to that
That sss4U and she will bout to be over that this weekend
Idk if NLU is the biggest rap song of all time. Probably not even top 10.
However it is bigger than every Drake song since at least 2018
That’s fair
What the hell?

I remember when they tried to dismiss Bad Bunny’s streams because they came from “poor” countries
Not really. Would you say it’s a “flawed metric” to combine all different versions of albums into their final numbers like it has been done?
That’s not what happens though. You don’t combined the streams of the clean and explicit versions of an album. You don’t combine all the streams of a deluxe album and the standard version. If that was the case After Hours would have 24 billion streams on Spotify

“All versions” is a flawed stat man
“All versions” is a flawed stat man
aight bruh so we gonna act like there wasnt a remix. both original and remix have over 1 billion
And @Mafia_boss, even if we’re combining the streams, a song like Save Your Tears has more total streams then. It’s a massive stretch to say OTR is the biggest song of the streaming era
What the hell?

The streams aren’t combined though is the point. Nobody says Save Your Tears has 3.9 billion streams

The streams of a the clean and explicit versions of the album get combined I believe. Remixes count too, the only thing that doesn’t get combined is the live versions of the album/song on the BB charts. That’s how BTS managed to stay at #1 with all them remixes back in 2021 lol. CC: @iHype unless i’m mistaken
“All versions” is a flawed stat man
What makes it flawed? BB literally counts all versions combined lol. Would you have liked it if each individual version of HUT charted separately on the BB200?

I specified in the US.

They do not. Spotify recognized Un Verano Sin Ti as the highest streamed (non-greatest hits collection) album of all time, at 18 billion streams.
But an album like Scorpion has 10 billion explicit and 10 billion clean streams, but isn’t recognized as the highest streamed album of all time because the streams aren’t combined

Because they are combined...

We are talking specifically about Spotify streams.
Spotify (and other DSPs) does not combined clean + explicit streams or deluxe + standard streams.
What they do is take the higher total of the clean / explicit, and for deluxes they just add the total streams of the deluxe songs to the total streams of the standard album
