Drake did 160 m’s on spotify first day. Wasn’t even coming close to the record tbh.

So, if this album does like 400k, that makes him the #1 guy in rap when Drake has done 400k+ 3 times this decade alone and reached those numbers twice with the span of a year? How does that work?

yes. critical acclaim + sales would give Kenny that #1 spot

Drake just gotta make better music at this point & i say that as a massive supporter

U right but lets be real, 90% of people on socials etc wont care about that, they'll just see Kendrick outsold Drake's last few & theyll start calling him the new #1

Doesn't work that way. Kendrick has always had critical acclaim and from GKMC has always been a commercial giant. Why didn't we give him the #1 spot then? Drake was the #1 guy because he dominated across all spheres. Kendrick hasn't done that yet. He hasn't even outsold him yet and you don't become the #1 guy simply because you won a beef over the #1 guy.

People on social media are idiots and they've been saying Drake fell off commercially for years when that isn't factual.

44 million global/ 25 million US on spotify with 7 hours of tracking. could’ve set records

It has 12 hours of tracking and would have debuted with around 90M Global/48-50M US streams on Spotify with a full day. Massive numbers, especially for a 12-track project.

    25m in 12 hours tracking
vs chromokopia with 46m in 19 hours tracking

    very interesting

I actually think GMX's 2nd day is gonna do less streams than Chromokopia's 2nd day in the US

gonna be very close regardless, imagine telling someone that 6 months ago. But based on these numbers I'm wrong about this guy becoming the new #1 lol. This is like 250k~ streaming units type numbers, I hope im wrong

Numbers might rise or reduce only slightly in day 2. Depends on how stable the streaming stays.

global/US have different tracking times though right? They must do

according to that tweet, global chart resets at midnight UK time

but if the US chart reset at midnight UK time, artists that drop music at midnight EST (as normal) would only get 19h tracking time for the first day on US charts. i can't see that being true

if i'm right then global streams will be up 50%~ tomorrow, and US about 30%

according to TOTC, maybe it had 12 hours tracking in the U.S. but only 7 global idk how spotify works

todays numbers will be at least twice as big as yesterday’s. euphoria released at around 8 am EST and debuted with only 1.3 million streams on US spotify then ballooned up to 5.5 million streams the following day with a full 24 hours of tracking

  • Nov 23, 2024

Unless this sells physicals out the ass, this won’t be a challenge to Kendrick whatsoever
