This is really the point being made. He's done a lot for his current era but because there's no consistency visually or sonically in everything he's been dropping, fans aren't as connected to it. This is his first studio album in 3 years and there's absolutely no hype for it, even amongst his own fanbase. Every The Weeknd album era from Kiss Land to Dawn FM had a consistency visually and sonically. Either the music videos had a similar vibe or they told a story but they were all connected somehow.

Dancing in the Flames, Timeless and São Paulo couldn't be more different from one another and so it just seems like he's throwing s*** at the wall to see what sticks and so far, nothing is sticking.
