Wtf that new Morgan Wallen song sounds like Dua Lipa lol
Are you f***ing deaf? Lol
He is not wrong at all.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjBZ8MUnB0EHaven’t listened to the Morgan song yet but the most reliable way to prove inspiration from a song who’s suspiciously similar to another is see if its key is a semitone away from that of the song it’s similar to
Works every time
Sick of people pretending this isn't a classic

They’re both just using the same pop chord progression so that’s probably why the original commenter heard that
There is absolutely nothing to suggest this
Tyler is doing 13M daily streams on Spotify, Weeknd is doing 42M.
Even if Tyler’s fanbase has grown since 2021, it’s still literally nowhere near Weeknd’s.
And before you say something about that being a global stat, Tyler is at #37 on US Spotify, Weeknd is at #7.
And before you say that’s because Weeknd just dropped two new singles, if you look at a random date from this summer, Weeknd was at #14 and Tyler at #35.
You’re probably gonna end up saying that it’s because of Weeknd’s back catalog, which is partially true, but Tyler’s most recent song in his most daily streamed is from 2021 and doing 270K daily, but Weeknd has a song from last year doing 2.8 million daily
still nowhere near Weeknd's? you yourself said Weeknd's last (with over a year of promo) only did 20m more streams than Tyler's near surprise album. 20m is nothing lol
Tyler's music isn't that replayable so longterm streams make sense
I'm just using social media/the announcement stats to suggest what I said anyway, the weeknd album announcement did nothing like this
weirdly tyler isnt even doing vinyls

1. Social media engagement is not an accurate measure of first week sales. Dawn’s reveal did good numbers on social media, then the album underperformed. Also, Hurry Up Tomorrow’s reveal absolutely did well on social media, not sure why you’re acting like it didn’t.
2. Both CMIGYL and Dawn FM were officially revealed a week before their releases, so calling one a near surprise album and the other not one is kinda disingenuous. And Tyler does always super short rollouts, a 1-2 week turnaround for him is not really a “surprise”.
3. All I was saying was there was absolutely no metric to argue that Tyler’s growing fanbase has somehow surpassed Weeknd’s since 2021. Has Tyler’s base grown since then? Yes. Does it means he would do a higher first week than Weeknd? Absolutely not.
4. CMIGYL didn’t have vinyl first week either, just CDs and cassettes.

Ehh maybe it's just our bubbles then. Iv seen very little people care about this new weeknd project, or Dawn FM 2 years ago
Not bout to talk about the Dawn FM stuff again lol, when an artist is constantly tweeting about the new album they're working on and spamming the dawn emoji every 5mins, that's a rollout to me, it isn't to you
3) He literally already did higher than THe Weeknd with his last album lol, you're being disingenous acting like what I'm saying is crazy. If they both did the same gimmicks, its a basic guarantee Tyler outsells. He simply has a bigger fanbase that actually buys s***

CMIGYL outsold Dawn FM first week by a total of 21K copies.
50K of those first week sales for CMIGYL was physical bundles.
Dawn FM had zero physical bundle copies its’ first week numbers, and it did 14K in digital downloads alone (compared to CMIGYL’s 5K in digital downloads).
Therefore, it is disingenuous to act like Tyler just outsold Weeknd without providing any context, because Dawn FM would’ve easily eclipsed CMIGYL’s first week sales if there were physical sales attached to it
I love Tyler man I don’t wanna sound like a hater, but thinking he is doing a better first week than The Weeknd is an insane opinion to have

Thinking Tyler has the bigger fanbase is some delusional s***, but it really wouldn’t be shocking if he outsells Weeknd
His stans stream his music like crazy whenever he drops a new album unlike the Weeknd’s more “casual listeners” fanbase

Every Weeknd album has outstreamed every Tyler album first week. Where are you guys getting this opinion from?
What time does top 10 usually update on Sundays?
It's delayed (again).
APT. 100% ends up debuting in the top 10.

Pretty funny how whenever Weeknd is outsold, you come up with all these excuses and think its all justified
But when Weeknd outsells someone & someone points out all the reasons why, you're like wahhhhh THAT DOESN'T MATTER! IT'S IRRELEVANT
mf can't help but show his biases lol
those tyler bundles were all CD bundles btw which are nowhere near as effective as vinyl bundles

Yeah thinking something that already happened can repeat is really crazy insane
regardless its not happening becuase Tyler isn't a slave to numbers like the Weeknd, it's a shame the weeknd can't be more like drake/tyler and care more about just dropping music tbh
